Listening to the Lakewood review and Matthes says Tony is heading home because he’s getting no money from KTM! That’s pretty poor literally seeing he’s running near front and their top rider. Shame for a 9 time world champ.
They'll use his holeshot photos for adds though you watch.

I would have thought the retired 9 time world champ on holidays in the US and hole shoting everything in sight would be worth maybe something :/
It would suck for him to finish out his dream to race in the US this early because of KTM.
Seriously – what in the fuck are KTM thinking?
Dude has won you how many titles? He's literally the best KTM rider in the class. He's huge with the fans. What the fuck Roger/Pitt. What a shitty move.
By far the best performing rider of the team and as pointed out improving every race, still looks uncomfortable in some corners though, not the style I'm used to seeing. When/if he gets the bike dialled I'm confident a spot on the podium isn't out of the question.
Come on KTM, I buy your bikes so invertedly fund your race teams, and I say write Tony a nice big fat check
I know business is business, but it's feeling like a recurring theme of them having no loyalty to their guys, in situations like this which is a grey area where it isn't all about results and wins.
Rog isn’t scared to tell Pit how it is I hope
I would understand if they would have a rider in the hunt for the title, but the fact is that Cairoli is carrying this team and is only getting better.
>No one in AMA MX getting better results
>No one in MXGP class getting any results
>Alot of European eyes on AMA series watching Tony
>New model they are trying to sell
Nup, sorry Tony, can't help you bud
Pit Row
But seriously, Decoster sounds like a real jackass now after that trackside interview saying “we need to do better.” Sounds like every manager I had at my old shit-wage jobs in high school.
It sucks Tony isn’t getting paid but I’m willing to bet Tony himself went to KTM and said he wanted to do a few US nationals and asked for a bike/rig/support. They gave all of that to him.
Or maybe I’m wrong and they asked Tony to do a few nationals. Either way, Tony knew what the deal was and was apparently fine with it. With how he has performed this season so far KTM should be asking him to stay and forking over a nice check (maybe they have and Tony declined?)
There are a lot of assumptions and baseless claims in this thread.
No one gets start money in the US unless it's been discussed and agreed apon before hand.
222 is in the US because he wanted to ride a few rounds and KTM US is supporting him. It's safe to say that 222 is on some sort of performance bonus system.
Without doubt he will be earning $$$ but KTM won't be paying him for gate drops!
