Keeping the 2008 model relevant....

should be a grand cheaper....then it would make perfect sense

as it is, the RMZ450 is $500 MORE than the rehashed 2020 CRF450's that Honda sells- clearly a better bike

Honestly I’ve been considering a rmz for my next bike

I’d imagine the Parts availability is stellar and don’t really need an e start since I don’t crash and don’t have to worry about my 30D championship being blown over a stall in a corner

Insert facepalm emoji.

Just give up already. Embarrassing.

Don’t you guys ever get tired of bashing on them? Just don’t buy one and leave it alone. It’s the same bike, so what. It just gave someone the option to get a new bike with a set of graphics and a full pipe without spending more money than just the price of the bike.

Don’t like it? Move on with your bike of choice and shut up.

Who’s got the “get more snookie” Suzuki pic? Lost it some time ago.

If Suzuki doesn't want to develop new tech into their bikes, then they need to do two things:

1) Make them cheaper. $5k 250f and $6k 450 OTD. It's a lot sweeter deal to get into a brand new bike for cheap.

2) Start selling 2 strokes again. They don't even have to change anything, except maybe throw the current plastics on them. I'd argue they would sell just as many of these as their current thumpers.

Looks good to me. It’s 90% or more rider at the amateur level. If you suck on a Suzuki, you suck on everything.

Nothing of what you just wrote would make any sense financially for Suzuki.

Suzuki has no interest in the US market, look at their street bike lineup too.

Asleep at the wheel. Sad. Sport is better when Suzuki is balls deep in it.

Still handles better than the KTM, Gas Gas and Husky's. Everyone with their cone valves and $20,000 orange bikes keep laughing though. Everyone else is laughing right back at you rolling around in Vet novice.

I'll take kick start any day over the magic button .... but then I'm old enough to remember taking bullshit off bikes to reduce weight and complexity....

If they aren't going to update the bikes at all, including the full exhaust and graphics is actually not too bad. Those are usually 2 things consumers invest in when they get a new bike anyways. So then you just get your suspension figured out and it's not terrible. Would I drop "new bike money" on one still? No probably not. I think money is spent wisely on other brands. But for die-hard Suzuki guys or potentially someone on a certain budget, it's still a nice bike. And with the pipe and graphics, they certainly look racey. I didn't expect a new model anyways, so the addition of the accessories is actually better than I expected, to be honest.

Just go back to the last Suzuki new bike drop thread and read those comments. Same bash this year.

The bashers are starting to make a lot of sense, TBH. It is pretty ridiculous to release a new bike in 2018 and then not update it - at all - for 5 years.
(Those saying the bike is the same as in 2008 are sorely mistaken, though.)

I know its the same old story but listening to Pipes on the Pulp show still makes it sound like something is cooking over at Suzuki but who knows....

"reduce weight" - Point is invalidated when the Zuk is by a fair margin the heaviest bike it it's class.

"complexity" - Is complexity really a valid point when e-starts have gotten to the point of reliability they've reached?

Just ideas for them to maybe try and sell more units. Suzuki is so iconic in moto, it would be a shame if we lose them.

Joke's on you. I was bummed that since switching my ECU that my 250 got harder to start. I calibrated the TPS on my GET app and now it starts in 1-2 kicks every time. #legday

They don't handle better than the Austrian bikes. They probably would if they spent some R&D on figuring out the BFRC shock and balancing the chassis on the 450 and spec'ing the right spring rates on the 250 (Yes I've ridden both of them plenty of times back to back with my KTMs). But they don't even bother doing that, which really means that they absolutely don't care about dirt bikes. It's a shame. I'm a Suzuki fan.

Boldest Newest Graphics.

Couldn't fit any to the 85 though.

The RM's were fantastic, industry-leading bikes back when I raced, 1977-1980.

In '78, I started out on a YZ 125 in March, but by May was on the RM 125C. That bike was awesome ^2 (squared): motor and handling both top notch. Faster than the YZ and turned much better.

It is painfully obvious at present that the yellow company no longer gives a shit about their off-road machines.

I assume the other side of the 85, which has a radiator (again, an assumption) and a radiator shroud, perhaps has shroud graphics.

Why they'd photograph the plain side of the bike on the 85 is a bit beyond me.
