Front runners should be worried, one bad moto and Dungey takes it!!
First moto with Dungey in third I was thinking Dungey has a decent shot at the championship. Before today I thought people calling him for the championship were pulling everyone's leg.

If Tomac's knee is an issue, which I don't think it is more so bike setup for today, Dunge is my favourite for the championship.

Clueless bastards. How's that crow taste?

There was a few... Most had him 5-10 which is where he finished, just at the upper end of it. But he also took advantage of DF14 not riding.

I can’t exactly see that as “writing him off”, more so no one had any real idea where he’d slot in.

I mean he was still a minute back at the end. Still a hell of a ride in an unprecedented comeback! No shame in a 5-5...

Edit: I’m wrong a lot so he probably does

He absolutely destroyed bogle. Who has been racing and presumably training. 5th is amazing in my eyes. Everyone on that gate can rip.

Maybe Dylan would have been more prepared and not been injured if he had taken six years off? I fucking love and admire Ferrandis, but I’m sorry, keep your asterisk in your pants. It’s an ugly look.

I thought he'd place around 7-10 the first couple of rounds, and then we'd see him with top 5's by midseason with maybe a couple podiums. He definitely looked great today and proved me wrong. Honestly one of the coolest things I've ever seen as a fan of the sport.

I felt the same, wasn’t a big fan back then, but the most exciting thing about this opener was him coming back. To me anyways. I hope he gets some wins, the sport is better with him

He's only gonna get better. The other contenders better start building a solid points lead while they still can.

Not really. The elite riders were ahead of him or sidelined with injuries.

That said, there's some guys on factory/factory support equipment that are going to be scratching their heads thinking WTF.

Sure doesn't make Plessinger look good. Dunge comes off the couch after 6 years off and smoked him.

Maybe he should trade polishing his boots and square dancing for some extra bike testing time Dry

Dungey just pretty much invalidated the record book for the past 5 years.

Hyperbole? Yes of course but holy crap what a ride. Dungey never looks fast he has always been the Michael Myers of moto but damn he looked extra leisurely out there. Once he gets his sea legs, look out.

Wow. Tied with tomac for fourth. One thing we have all know about #5 is consistency. He will likely be top 5 all season.

I agree. I don't think Dungey will have the speed of Sexton, Roczen, Tomac, or Anderson...but his point was that after 6 years off, he's so close to their speed, it's all the more impressive.

I think a 5-5 just highlights how good Dungey was before he retired.

I figured he'd be up there, I didn't think he was going to do as good as he did, figured top 10. I think it's more impressive he sat out so long and did well in the outdoors. Usually they extend careers through Supercross, wouldn't expect to see a guy come off the couch for the outdoor series.

He went 10-6 at round 1 in 2010….will be an interesting summer. The diesel is warming up!
That was his rookie race on 450 outdoor tho...

I was never a Dungey guy but I respect Dungey. He’s going to be a factor. And this proves my long time belief that speed doesn’t change over time. The Carmichael Stewart 2006 era was the peak of motocross.

I my opinion, one way or another, Ferrandis was never going to be up the front this year.

I was waiting to hear something about his performance. Is he still slightly injured? Cardio? Whatever the case losing to Dungey and 222 doesn't look good for him. Maybe should've stayed at Star, he looks big and cramped on the Katoom.
