“Electric bikes are going to open up so many riding areas”
I tried to tell people in many of the posts on here and got ripped for it.

“The lack of noise will work to our benefit.”

Told them so, I guess 🤷‍♂️

You can’t give up an inch to that state. Take care of the noise and “pollution”, it’ll be something else.

Hopefully people wake tf up and start fighting against the people who do this instead of trying to “reinvent” the sport when you’ll just end up back at square one when that innovation is introduced.

I’ve seen how many mtb trails get closed . How they figured an electric bike would preserve anything is beyond my understanding.

Dust and erosion are the next thing that will shut us down. Like I said…they want us in the METAverse.

I thought california got rid of the green/red sticker program?
Eh yes somewhat. Basically if it has not gone through the process to get certified to be street legal emissions wise it can’t get any sort of registration just a title. I think there is a weird grey area currently that was over looked (as always). Basically it’s a procedure thing to get approval. But as someone else mention you do in fact need a vin and pay CARB for their stamp of approval.

Otherwise all 21 and older bikes that currently have a Red or green sticker will be grandfathered in 2025 as whatever the new “green sticker” status is. Similar to how 2003 and older 2 strokes got to keep green sticker. A few 22’s have gotten registered so they may get to be grandfathered but only time will tell. A few people with green sticker 2003 bikes got red eventually when someone caught it finally.

In short pay CARB to play on public land.

If there is something we can all agree on... it's that everything you read on Facebook is 100% true and factual.

2 options:

A. The facebook post is lying to get attention and to bash on California

B. That's not a real Honda and the importer didn't do the proper paperwork to get them legal to ride off road. This happened a lot with the Chinese Pit Bike Craze. Lots of little pop up shops were selling them for cash and pretending like they didn't need a title transfer to the new owner because that cost them more money in fees

I made a comment on the dude's facebook post. It's open for anyone to post on. I asked for more info because he offered no evidence

Would you believe it is against the law in CA to fill your bike with gas when it is parked on public land? It must be parked on a spill proof mat, or on your trailer etc.. That's the level of insanity we have reached here.

There are no emissions, so i don't understand how it can't meet emission standards...doesn't seem like we are getting the whole story here...like others mentioned, it could be a technicality with the VIN number or something...Or...it is California...so I wouldn't be surprised at all that they won't allow a zero emission bike, for exceeding the emission standards...they are THAT ridiculous there...
I work for an engine company- several years ago we were trying to get one of our models EPA emissions certified..We struggled early on in the certification process because certain emissions (CO, NOx, etc) out of the 3 way catalyst measured ZERO. The EPA needed to see measurable emissions!! We literally had to richen up the AFR (produce more emissions) to pass…Later on we petitioned to change the EPA testing requirements to allow for ultra low emissions..

This more than likely is a clerical error or process that isn’t completed yet with California. Last I heard, they can’t sell them in Ohio either because Greenger Powersports isn’t an approved Mfg/Distributor with the state of Ohio.

I know it is hard to keep politics out of these conversations (and by large, we have done a good job here, somehow this is all still civil discussion and banter). But it is political decisions that are the reason this conversation even exists, exactly as you said. Obviously people are feeling stripped of freedoms from this stuff, and it sucks.. It has gotten to the point of being ruled, not governed, any voice falls on deaf ears (unless you have money).

I am sure there is fine pint to the what and why here, but the fact that is even a discussion, especially on an E-bike, is ridiculous. I think things like this make a large chunk of us really nervous as people slowly warm up to E-Bikes, wondering if we are still going to continue to get ripped of what makes us happy, while we are sitting here conforming.to something we should not be forced/ruled to conform to. As all of this shit goes down, I will be happy to pay every penny private track owners ask, we are going to need them.

It's alot easier to change the rules of what happens on public land than it is to turn private land into public land. Public land users need to organize better, and fight between themselves less.

It's a Vital MX right of passage to have at least 1-2 threads month bitching about California. I guess I can't blame you though.

They (CA) don’t know how to classify it. EA bikes are non-binary?

Erosion isn't even the next thing, it's literally the now thing.

I used to read the annual environmental impact studies provided by OHV/state of CA done on Hollister when I lived there because after we lost Clear Creek, I couldn't stand not knowing what their next arguments/tactics were going to be.

They've been harping on the erosion of the site since at least 2010, the feds used erosion and asbestos dust (LMFAO get real) as the 2 main chips they gambled on to get the creek shut down and it won.
