I'm definitely getting one. Stark Varge would be nice so I can ride in my neighborhood buy this thing is too nice! Who is in on this bike?
I'm not a big fan of batteries but I would rather mess with a battery than adjust/replace valves or a timing chain. I dont know how difficult an electronic power valve would be but I think the advantage will be 219 lbs in with efi and electronic power valve power adjustability on hard pack and poor traction riding.

This is the most tempted I've been by a new model in quite some time.

Oh I'm all in. I'm selling my YZ250 and buying the Husky version (I like the aesthetics and lower suspension better).
Been creaming my pants since I saw this release today.

Most tempted I have ever been. I want to wait for the second year model, but I don't think I can!

KTM is very in tune with their customer base. First the 350f and now the 300SX. The 300SX will be a great all around bike for desert, trail, and track. Nice work KTM.

Meh, didn't the 300xc already do that?

That's less of a track bike than this 300SX. I know a lot of guys who would rather have a better track bike that also does well in the desert, rather than a good desert bike that they ride on a track. The 450 fits this mold well as a 450 does great on single track and desert, but now there's a really 2 stroke option focused on track performance that will also be very fun on the trails..

No, the XC line in the past was a very differnt animal, their cranks alone are about 1lbs heavier, lower compression, and milder timing. The 250sx flat rip, I can’t imagine the need for 50 more cc’s, the 300 will be a hard hitting brute, it will be more of a 500sxf then a 350. Riding my current 20’ 250sx back to back with a 22’ GG350 makes the 350 feel like a total turd.

I’m curious to see if the xc and sx share the same flywheel and ignition. Parts fiche is up, will investigate deeper later

The 2022.5 factory editions got new bodywork and is what to be expected on the 23’s.

Ever since the YZ400F, the Vital 2-stroke Taliban has been assuring us that a 300cc EFI 2-stroke would be the ultimate MX bike and surely spell the death of all 4-strokes.. and that they all would immediately and absolutely buy one when available.

Going back and checking old threads, You know who you are. Your day has arrived. Post pics of order and then bike when you pick up.

I’m holding out for the no frills Gas-Gas MC300
Would be nice to have a carb’d, centrifugal power valved, lower price option.

I'm curious how the crank is lubed? With presumable no mixture going down to the crank bearings and them up a transfer port. Wet sump?

I would love this bike. I like riding SX/MX bikes for the hard hitting power, even though I mainly trail ride these days.

You could always look at how a 2 stroke works... These are the same, just FI in place of carb. You still premix.

I heard the 300sx is Ktm only. Don’t expect a husky version. Does look amazing on paper. I’m waiting for ride reviews before ordering one though.

I believe this is the newer improved TBI (vs TPI) fuel injection.
It's a tipping point for me; MX model, TBI fuel injection, electric start.
Yes, I could have built up a TPI same from an XC version previously.
I could barely get my CR500 started last weekend at Hangtown on the gate.
Yes, I could put a 20lb electric start kit on it.
They keep crossing my excuses off my list. Yes, I'm going to get one; maybe Husky (Vet) version.

So it still uses transfer ports from the bottom end up into the cylinder, got it.

Obviously I know how they work, I explained it in my post.

Fricken cool!
I am on the fence between pulling the trigger or waiting for the first year bugs to get worked out.
