The ultimate irony in all of this is, if Justin wouldn't have ridden like a dumbass this season (taking out various riders who all eventually got him back by putting him on the ground plus Barcia being put on probation and losing points for dirty riding while on probation), he would have easily finished 3rd in the points race, his best season ever. But Anderson taking him out, Mookie taking him out, Bogle taking him out, et al plus multiple races where he was docked position points resulted in him dropping from 3rd to 5th on the season. He's LOSING money by riding like a dumbass, but at the same time he says he's racing like a dickshit for the money.

At what point does Barcia come to the realization that kind of riding is PREVENTING him from making more money?

Excluding dumbass moments like the topic at hand, he's a very consistent top 3-5 rider.
Well said. You would expect it from a Rookie ... but like you said at what point does he learn ... he should have already figured that out by now ?

I like Bam Bam's aggressive style, BUT that pass was way worse than the one he pulled on Anderson. He went in to just smash him, not pass him. There's a big difference between hitting a guy while making the pass, and hitting the guy to crash him and then pass him when he's on the ground. Barcia had malicious intent on that one, it wasn't good. Could have broke Mookie's arm and leg.

I hope these head-on passes get addressed for next year. Its the most dangerous pass in SX right now.
Don't hold your breath on them stopping it. it's been going on since the beginning of the sport. Only form of racing where you can apex the corner and then get hit by someone going damn near the wrong way on the track and there are usually no consequences.

He intended to block Barcia on the exit.

Stewart would have collided with Barcia had Barcia not seen Stewart and hesitated to create separation.

It’s only a textbook pass because Barcia avoided Stewart.

Stewart should learn the same technique.

Are you a prick?

So why did Barcia check up then?
No he's not a prick... You're absolutely embarrassing yourself and I think it's actually possible that you have collected more down votes than anyone ever has in one thread. If you're a kid ( 12 or younger) I'll cut you slack and semi understand, but if somehow these comments are coming from a grown adult you have to be the most ignorant person to post on this sight ever.

Lets put Barcias fine and loss of points in perspective. Docked 10 points goes from 4th in championship to 5th, gets fined $3k keeps his 3rd place position which pays 25k and nothing else happens. So bottom line is Barcia walks away with $22K on the night for blatantly violating his probation and standing the podium and throwing it in the face of the AMA! Nothing will change until Barcia and his stupid actions hurts a contender for the title. He already broke Plessengers leg a couple of years ago and the AMA did nothing.

Like Mathis said, he probably had a top 3 incentive bonus, so going from 4th to 5th in the standings isn't that bad. But they dinged him 3k of his 25k 3rd place finish? 🙄 😆

I don't think he broke plessingers leg. He did brake tyler bowers. But in that incident he didn't hit him very hard.
Also with payout.
He was fined 3k.
But ama pays 4300 for a 3rd place. Plus 25k from gasgas. Most riders would also get contingency from their gear, helmet and goggle sponsor. Not sure if this also applies as those sponsors are all team related. assuming he does that's prob a few grand from each sponsor for a podium.
So that would put him up around 35k - his 3k fine.

Hell, Chicken said on The Whiskey Throttle Show that he didn’t pay his fines, Kawi did.

Start him on probation next season and simply let him know that the first incident is 10 points and a 5 k fine. After that you will be parked for a lap. 3rd incident is a DQ

That’s the tbone or pass ? Who wouldn’t go for it ? It’s like driving in the steep hills and sharp curves in the N east. You run someone down 2 mi in front of you. Then they want to race you. Don’t be a sleep during the race and get run down. There wouldn’t be a hard pass if the other rider was faster. Justin is faster that’s why he is on the rider. He wouldn’t make hard passes if the other rider was faster .
Faster rider? Lol Stewart blew by Barcia from several seconds back, got cleaned out, remounted, charged back through the pack, and still caught Barcia
Oh ok all that happened , I didn’t see the race. I searched it on yt, rotomoto had the Mookie pass on the inside rut, great pass and no reason to slow down and do a take out and almost impossible to get out of the rut and do so. Next move Mookie looks back and sees Barcia going banzi off the jump to ovr jump short out and do a go for it pass. Mookie goes for the inside knowing the hit is coming. That’s like a mini 6,2 guard jumping in front of a 7,1 wo on a fast break. History shows that the 7,1 guy will punish you and he couldn’t change direction if he tried going that fast. It’s like run to where the tree is falling. Desperate pass attempt but I wouldn’t hv cut to the inside hoping the rider wouldn’t go for it since he’s on probation. A pass attempt was almost there, almost. In AX they hit a lot harder than that.

The majority of Barcias take outs this year have been after he was passed. Malcom was clearly faster and made a clean pass. A1 Anderson passed him and then he took Ando out. Indy same thing, Ando passed and got taken out. Dirty moves to get around a slower rider make you look bad, dirty moves after being passed because you’re slower is bad for everyone.

The Boss I think, read the title don’t you think the fan boy is a bit out of control ? If your a big fan of racing check out the local scene. Much better racing and it might b in the 65cc class
2 kids that r dead locked even. The most exciting racing is in the 125 class.

He's been doing this long enough to get the DQ on his next offense, not his third.

Bam Bam stated something like “We get paid on results. I do what I have to.”

So the AMA has to make it unviable to T bone people, unless they want SX/MX to become demolition derby.

As Adam C said on the commentary “This action is available every corner” - so with so many serious professionals racing they would basically have to adopt this tactic.

The analogies include fining thieves less than what they stole, or penalising tax evaders a small percentage of what they have stolen.

The current penalties seem to actually encourage this dirty riding. (Adam C, and Ricky C were not OK with it!)

I seriously think that the AMA is ok with it (to a certain extent) cuz how many people who otherwise wouldn't go to a SX race, show up just to see a takeout?

AMA and promoters (feld) are not the same. When will people understand this. AMA could care less how many spectators show up

Been out of town and just finally caught up with all the racing action. What a season! But that Barcia move on Mookie was really bad. I cant believe they haven't suspended him for multiple races. It seems like that would be the only way to stop him.
