Has this already been referenced here? This second part of the episode is so cool to listen to. I wish Davey would have asked him about laRocco's leap, but I guess you can't ask about everything. If you haven't watched it I think you'll like it.

Yes I was surprised how good the second half was. So good I'm going to listen to it twice

DC needs to be a permanent guest, his co-host is lacking.

The amount of detail he (and other racers) remember from each race is crazy. Just from a photo they remember exactly what was going on, even down to track conditions and bumps on a track!

The second half of the episode was amazing. I really feel like that James had his first official “moment” where everything clicked and you can tell he’s actually figuring this thing out.

I’ve watched every episode since he started earlier this year and you can really tell that he is putting in work to be better at his craft right now and outside of the great content we got to watch with DC, that made me feel pretty stoked for James.

I thought it was interesting to hear DC rip on themselves for having FIM involved in the sport. I agree and am glad they are gone from US MX.

I like hearing James give his analysis on things that are happening now.

But I loved having James walk down memory lane and give us insight on his own career. That episode was amazing.

Thanks for taking those photos with you, DC.

Davey has been on the sharp end of that in different roles back at least to the early aughts.

I was a Bubba fan from day one, like a lot of guys. For me what these podcasts have revealed is how much a student of the sport James was. And still is, actually.

He was SO fast and changed the sport so much, at least for me I always kind of thought he was just so naturally gifted he didn't study as much as he did. Obviously he worked hard because fitness was never really as issue for him.

I guess I always thought he just trained hard and then just went as fast as he could. I'm sure there was an element of that, but this segment especially reveals how present he was at all those races and title runs.

Adds a whole other dimension to James Stewart as a racer and as a person.

I think everyone was a fan of Bubba since his amateur days.

Thanks, but I was actually invited by James to come visit and be on the show. It was a great afternoon of bench-racing with @therealjs7!

This episode was gold, absolutely loved it. I'm not buying James' claim that he only "trully raced" Carmichael one time in MX. Must have hurt to not figure out a way to beat Carmichael outdoors, but he certainly found a way to beat him indoors!

That's the best interview I have ever seen.

Thanks FMOTP and DC. Both legends.

Any idea what the announcement is going to be after SLC? 125 All Stars? 45 minute motos? Glen Helen comeback?

This was recorded a few weeks ago so perhaps it was about all the KTM things that have been panning out.

I loved that! I don’t have the attention span for these long podcasts…but I listened to every word of that one. Great Job DC! You should do more of those for racerX (picture histories of various riders careers and let them talk about them…it was awesome!).

Looking back at those photos brought a lot of memories back for me. James Stewart was the greatest thing to happen to motocross in my lifetime.

I agree that it was really really good. You get a glimpse inside the mind of James Bubba Stewart and you realize he was out there to assassinate the competition every time he raced. You forget how badass he was at 16. His 125 days were like nothing we'd ever seen before or since. I totally buy in that there was a turning point when he first went up against RC and not having a a 450 and then having one that wasn't all that great was a real disadvantage. I also love how family oriented he seems to be at heart. It was good that DC acknowledged what a debacle the suspension was. James is a treasure to this sport and I'll say it again that they need to get him in the tv booth if even for a just a few races. In fact we need a James, RC, Reedy trifecta calling a couple rounds!
