Max Vohland?

Again. They should have put another rider on the team. Really bad look for a factory team putting all their eggs in one basket and losing the opportunity to get something out of their investment.

In all fairness, this is the showdown, so making the night show is the equivalent of making a main.

When AJ Catanzaro is on a 125 and beating you on a factory KTM, there’s something wrong.

He was also in the first and only super muddy timed practice while the A riders got a much dryer track to qualify on.

Yeah, but the two privateers I’ve never heard of that went faster and made the main were on the same slippery track, so…

It would be cool if he came here and gave MX2 a go, Tallon was a great GP rider, and he appreciated the expereince.
Mike Church’s favourite guy he worked with- he told me that himself!

KTM need to terminate his contract immediately. This is an embarrassment for the team. No excuses about being injured. Besides leading a lap at pala, what has he actually done? Absolutely nothing. Time to get rid.

Take it down a notch man, repeating it doesn't make it any more credible.

Him and his dad were worried about this exact scenario hence the extra contract year, as mentioned here already, he wasn't quite ready and throw some pretty savage injuries in the mix and it's not great and maybe you don't like it but it is at least somewhat understandable that he's still struggling right now.

Not to blame the new bike, not doing that, but it is another variable to add to an already tricky (for him) situation.

I've seen some bad takes on here but this is right up there with some of the worst. That's saying a lot so well done. He practically won the first moto of the year last summer until his bike blew up. But sure throw him on the scrap heap

He had the WORST practice. They literally packed the track and slung most of the mud off for the rest of the field. Plus he crashed on the first lap of the only qualifying session for him for the day. Cut him a little slack.

I had high hopes for him this year after I saw that pre season video of him. He looked really good and that wheel tap quad quad through the whoops was a thing of beauty. So yeah, dont know what went wrong.

He’s had plenty. He’s clearly less prepared than the privateers who did qualify. Tracks the same for everyone.

Yep, I don't discount that at all. I'm saying he had at best 4 laps to get a good qualifying time. No need to terminate his contract effective immediately. Some real tools in this place now. That's all. If the shoe fits, wear it bud.

There’s a saying that you make your own luck. In racing this is more true than ever. Keep playing the blame game though. It seems popular right now. 👌

I don't really think that is justification. If it means qualifies 14th in stead of 8th that's fine.
But to not qualify is very poor .
In the Same session he was out qualified by alves by 5 seconds. He was 1 second faster the Stank on a 125.
1st lap of the 2nd session. So the track is pretty much the same. Oldenburg went 5 seconds fast and then jett went 9 seconds faster then vohland on his 1st lap.

Is Max on the Aldon Baker burnout program? Seems like Aldon's boys are getting smoked by guys that used to train with him.

Max is part time. He will do like 4 weeks at aldons and bootcamps and stuff. Then comes home for a few weeks.

KTM is truly the worst MFG at developing successful amateurs into championship winners. There’s a reason they have only won 3 250 titles ever

Remember when Roger basically fired Kailub Russell because he wasn’t getting top 10s? Weird.

Max was more injured then they let on if you listen to the St. Louis swap pod. Along with the shoulder/ collar bone he also has some nerve damage. No surprise to see him struggling. He’s obviously ridden a lot better then he is right now. Hopefully he gets better and can race to his potential.
