I ordered a 6d coming from an airoh ace.
I went airoh because it was insanely light and that seemed to be where the safety trend was headed.
But I took one good hit in the airoh and my bell was definitely rung.
Who knows it could have been worse with another helmet or better but it being so light makes me wonder if it had enough guts inside it to do it’s job.
The 6d I ordered is significantly heavier but I’m hoping that translates to safety.
I know 6d is one of the most respected brands with safety, so that’s how I ended up there this time.
Is there any consensus or is this just another what oil do you run topic?

I've always thought this is something the AMA should pay to have done every 3 years or so & then release the data to AMA members....but then again they're probably too busy lobbying in DC for kickbacks with our yearly dues.
Sound like the bargain of the century!
It’s like we have each other to learn from and that’s it.
My previous helmet was a Moto 9 FLEX but this time I decided to give the Formula a try. I couldn't get it to feel comfortable on my head so I ended up exchanging it for an Alpinestars M10. The marketing videos makes it seem like they did their homework with the different foams in different areas but, yeah, it is mostly a shot in the dark for us consumers. I got my little man a new ATR-2.
Like mentioned already, try it on and make sure if fits your head hood. I wore Bell Moto 9’s and then the Moto 9 flex for many years, before switching to 6D.
The new Bell Moto 10 is a great helmet too, but the fit is no bueno for my XXL head.
