Bad take. Forkner covered the inside and held his line, how is that terrible race craft? Jett got out of control and jumped into him. Forkner wasn’t pushing too hard, he was in control and racing for the lead.

And if you want to dive further, Forkner could have been defensive and pushed Lawrence wide coming out of the turn. He did the smart and safe option instead of the option that would likely result in a crash by either one or both of them. Jett’s ‘pass now at all cost’ attitude resulted in both of them going down.
Yup! Jeff owned it during the podium interview, too.

So many ‘hit the tough block’ comments as if it was the tough blocks fault. Didn’t see anybody else clip that tough block in the 8 races I watched tonight. Vital and rider bias man, if this was Vince it’d be a 10 pager easy.

+2 lcq’s
Yes I know there were 2 lcq's but that was technically qualifying, not the night show "races". There were also other gate drops, shouldn't those be counted to?

Man I hate to say it but Forkner used to do shit like this all the time to other riders, intentional or not it is a bummer to see a championship contender taken out. Don’t sleep on Mcadoo, I think he has the consistency to be up there if Jett keeps making mental errors like he did last night.

Any idea what Forkner’s actual injuries are?
Possibly collarbone

I think the goal is to ride between the tuff blocks, not in them.

I just don’t see it. He’s making the same rookie mistakes in his 3rd year racing supercross.

Jett would be doing just fine if we stopped comparing him to the greatest 4 racers of all time. There will never be another Bubba or RC, and that’s ok.

The old man Jett nut huggers are going to hate you for that one. “BuT HeS a GeNeRatIonAl tAlEnt”. He’s not even in the same conversation as RC,CR, JS not even RV and RD.

Yes . Let’s also tone down the perfect season talk at least until we are a few rounds into the series .

First off Jett did not mean to do that...but it is 1000% his fault. They talked about Jett maturing as a rider and the Jett shows the opposite. He was out of control in the whoops...riding beyond his ability. Then he is riding beyond his ability and clips the tuff block...I’m still not sure how much of his cross jumping right is clipping the tuff block and how much was Jett steering right to try to miss it. Forkner was riding within his ability and held his line through the whoops and was kind staying in the lower line in the turn. Forkner was racing right and Jett was racing wrong. If Jett doesn’t make mistakes he can ride faster then other riders and win. When he makes a mistake he panics and rides faster then his ability. He did it last year and he still does it. btw...I’m more of a Jett fan then Forkner but call a spade a spade. Even his post race interview lacked true contrition. He took responsibility but didn’t really apologize to f*#king over Forkner’s season... and it could hurt his whole career because of it. It’s a big f#*king deal.

My point was that it was nobody’s fault. Unfortunately Austin got the worst part of it. I just hope that Austin‘s OK.
Just because Jett didn’t do it on purpose doesn’t mean it’s not his fault…

It was Jett's fault. It just wasn't intentional.

Alot of people caught in the Jett hype. They talked about if he could do a perfect season at the start of the broadcast for fuck sake. The kid crashes his brains out riding over his head and takes his main competition out and it's not his fault? He nearly bounced into him in the whoops. Everyone seems to lick Jett's arse but I know if Austin cross jumped Jett people would be asking for his head.
Perfect analogy

It’s like Jett and JA short circuit upstairs when they get flustered.

No one is saying it wasn't Jetts fault.
It was an accident and unintentional. Costly mistake for another rider and the press conference you could see he was feeling the guilt and owned his mistake.

Dudes going to cop it hard from the Media. But it was part of racing and hes done more good than bad for the sport.

Hopefully Forkner heals up quick and can bounce back like us fans know he can.

100% Jett’s fault, intentional or not (obviously it wasn’t). Jett was hanging it out riding over his head. Bummer he had to ruin Forkner’s season and put another damper on his career as he was finally starting to put it back together. Pretty sad how many people don’t seem to give a single shit about Forkner and are only concerned about defending Jett.
I've been on the Jett bandwagon since I saw him debut at Dilla and Budds in '19. That was pretty a pretty shitty deal last night though and left a bad taste in my mouth as a fan. Austin could have been riding over his head too last night but he was riding smart and he still got bit. Hopefully Jett learns from this. He's really two different riders in sx and mx. Has he had any situations like this outdoors? Seems to ride smart and not out of his comfort zone. We've seen him make some poor decisions indoors. I really hope AF is ok

The same was said about Austin. Racing tends to have things out of your control happen and alter said plans by fans and media alike. No doubt, Jett feels like shit. I heard he went to the Asterisks unit after the race to apologize to Austin. Great gesture, unfortunately it won't change the outcome. Forkner could have cleaned him on the outside and chose to keep it smart and clean as Mitch said in the "Weege" show. This is 100% accurate and just shite luck. In one night we lost two very good riders due to crap luck. Both RJ and Austin and this doesn't include the Kitchen, and Shock. Rough night of racing and I believe I heard Daniel Blair mention that Chad Reed texted him during RDL and said the track was going to chew some riders up. Sounds like Skippy was right.

Jett actually has too much confidence and that is why he gets himself, and others, in trouble. When he was way out of control in the whoops his brain doesn’t say “ohh...a little too fast...stay in control”. Instead his brain says”yea..survived....gun it!!” There will be some that will defend/admire this. Well...he did it last year in supercross and the fastest rider, him, did not win the series. He’s doing it again this year. He might do a little better managing a lead out front....it’s when he is not out front that is the problem.

It was weird hearing RC sing Jett’s praises saying he’d sweep not just the triple crown, but all SXEast races.
Then he spins out in the second corner of the first race, 1st corner of 3rd race. And the incident in this thread. If there ever was a jinx, RC put it on him big time.

Couple Points....

The incident was 100% Jetts fault , but in saying that I believe that there is 0% chance it was intentional... listen to his interview with Matthes and the tone of his voice etc is a kid that's completely bummed and owning his mistakes, and he was man enough to check on Austin and apologise to his face not just to a camera

As much as I am a Jett fan I wish the media would back down and just let him ride rather than heap all these predictions and expectations on him..... he is a great rider and he will do awesome things but just let it play out and when his career is done hopefully in 10 to 15 years then compare what he's done with the greats..but just let the kid ride for now and see what unfolds

And if you want to dive further, Forkner could have been defensive and pushed Lawrence wide coming out of the turn. He did the smart and safe option instead of the option that would likely result in a crash by either one or both of them. Jett’s ‘pass now at all cost’ attitude resulted in both of them going down.
