He's put so much into the sport. He's a very successful businessman within the Industry, that has put so much back into the sport.
And, I hope, while not losing to much money from his efforts - well, I hope that somehow, he's been able to make some money from his Team And Race promotion.
Yes, a British GP early in the year is a risk. He's had the Guts to take that risk.
Weather is incredibly unpredictable - always has been, but even more so nowadays.
From what I can gather, the storms that have hit Europe and Britain, are ranked up there as 'all time', with regards to records kept. We've been hearing about the "Red Warnings", here in OZ for the last week and a half.
I'm surprised that Teams had their awnings up, to be destroyed. That the "Red Warnings" were unknown, or not heeded, is strange. At least from the limited amount of pictures I've seen so far, 'Luongo The Drongo' himself, or his workers, may have learned from a few years ago to have held off with full enclosure / cladding of 'his' major structures.
That big old Tree, is a sad loss - testament to the fury of the winds, right there.
I hope that things will have settled down for next weekend.
As to the Indonesian races? I've been to most of them, starting from the very first ones, way back. And the Thai GPs. It's a cheap pair of GPs for me to get to, and a very interesting Country, with a Big Motorcycling scene, that I will probably go to again this year. As I've written before - they've been pretty well attended. The Locals have some sense - they have the covered stands they go in - they stay in the shade, in comfort. Just because you don't see many at the fences - us silly 'whities' (and, cripes, as a Ranga, I'm damned near 'Glow In The Dark') , are the ones that you , generally, might see in dribs and drabs out there in the scorching sun, and, at times the drenching rain - doesn't mean it's 3 men and a dog. But, it seems people just don't / won't look at the packed, undercover temporary stands.
I Do wish Luongo The Drongo would put another Asian round - or two - on the same time frame. But, logical thinking is never a feature of so many series promoters, Worldwide.....
To jump from Indonesia, to another SE Asian country, and well, especially Japan , would be a great, and an affordable set of GPs for me to get to, and, perhaps the Teams. Though, time away from 'bases', is a huge expense, on so many levels, that can make long sweeps impractical for the Teams. I can get to Euro GPs through work, but not to the Asian ones - they come out of my pocket. And that's a bit empty, at the moment. My OS work, other than a week in Gong Buri, Thailand after the New Year, has been somewhat limited in the last couple of years.
However i would rather see it in the summer than feb
They sure picked a fitting photo to go along with the announcement...

Sucks for Dixon who loves the sport and just wants to run a GP for the British fans when no one else wanted to step up and risk losing their arse financially running it. Hope he can at least break even.
In Spain we have good weather normally but maybe its dificult to have a big crowd, people like sun around April or May...
That said, since friday we had more rain here in 2 days than the 2 months previous, my daughters wedding venue is next to a river that floods bad, and it is right close to that happening again, and that is only 15 mins from Hawkestone.
Now its clear here and dry , wind has dropped , and hopefully Matterley will dry out over the next 5 days.. it will race fine, it just getting folk in , they have decent roads in the venuue, it just gets soft in the campsites .
Did 4 riders get injured in less then a week or what? Offcourse Febvre Herlings & Lapucci is not in but there was still 30 now it’s 26…
maybe a bit to much on food.
Can they race today?!
Perfect!
Pit Row
Nice bit of 2 stroke action, apart from a puddle or two, its dry as a stick.
Nice two stroke video though!
* Herlings (heel), Febvre (leg), Jonass (wrist), Lupino (sickness), Jacobi (scaphoid), Monticelli (shoulder), Paturel (collarbone)
* Benistant (knee), Guyon (knee)
I would expect Infront to have balls and announce relocating the MFR GP 1st of May somewhere else. I am voting for Orehova Vas in Slovenia. Slovenia got 2 MX World Champions (MX3 2013 - Klemen Gerčar, MX2 2015 & MXGP 2016 + 2019 + 2020 - Tim Gajser) in last 10 years and still no GP in calendar ffs!!! The TiGa fan crowd would be more mental than usual.
