RustyTrowel Started a new thread Hawkstone International full race footage

2/23/2022 3:40am
For those who missed out on watching some Euro racing last weekend with the GP cancellation, the Hawkstone International was shown free on YouTube the weekend before. Full day footage including practice and the 125 races. Looks pretty sloppy on top and a bit chilly, but a decent crowd for February...and a lot warmer than the old New Years Day...

RustyTrowel Added a reply to #1: MXGP of Great Britain - February 26-27

I'm 30 miles down the road. All schools have been shut here today as councils have decided it wasn't safe to travel. Plenty of trees down, but not much rain and no snow (it's 9 degrees C). IF the wind doesn't destroy everything tonight, then maybe it'll be ok. Saturday morning/lunchtime is forecast heavy rain, but Sunday looks drier...40+ mph...

RustyTrowel Added a reply to Kenny vs Everts

I saw Everts ride in person a LOT over the years, whether that be at GPs in all classes, at MXDNs, or when he was over doing the British Champs. Super smooth, ridiculously fast and a cut above almost everyone on any surface...but. He was boring as hell to watch. That feet up style was text book and he never...

Episode 1 looking at some of the riding and training going on in Holland featuring Herlings, Jasikonis, de Wolf. The look around the Husky service course during the Kay de Wolf section is cool. Herlings admitting that at 26 he is nearly done.

Wouldn't hurt to throw some extra support to a couple of the higher placed privateer KTM racers in the points rather than rush another kid up...or even give 1 of them a couple of races on the factory bike (I presume Max was running out of the main rig with Cooper and Marv so it wouldn't really cost much other...

RustyTrowel Added a reply to Resting Heart rate?

12/31/2020 3:17am
Resting HR is 37/38. Max heart rate is probably 182bpm if I can work hard enough to get it up there. I'm a 50 year old runner (definitely not-elite 2hr 50min marathon, sub 17min 5k) who runs about 3,500 miles a year and I probably weigh about 154 pounds at the moment. Jogging along for easy runs at 7:30 per...
Obviously influenced by age, But as a 50 year old from England, the period from the late 70s through to the early 90s were the prime years. 500GP prime years before the industry put a halt to that and pushed the 250s as the premier class. No coincidence that these were also the years that my parents were driving us...

British GP in 2021? No point scheduling one; we'll still be going in and out of lockdown and have quarantine in place for half the world next summer with these clowns in charge.
Namur was always like that...minus the sand obviously. The excitement of waiting at a part of the track down in the woods not knowing who was coming in what order added to the magic...especially for those of us who couldn't understand the frenetic French and Flemish commentary being shouted out Laughing
