The Healey thread got me thinking... I’ve never seen someone here call themselves anything under an Intermediate-Pro rider. Even when their profile pics tell a different story 🤣.

I’m genuinely curious what class everyone races, and how long they’ve been racing?

Mind you, I’m talking national level. Not club level. Club intermediate = novice

30+ B Try to race 6-off-road events a season. Comes out to about once a month that I try to race during the season. Other than that just ride my off-road course around the house.

Raced from age 8-15. Road for fun from 16-19. Took a break and road street bikes and cruisers until 30. Been back on dirt for 2 years w/ no intentions of taking another break until my body won’t let me.

I said “National” level class and it’s 50/50 of Loretta Lynn’s B-Pro am level riders and beginner-Novice riders. I’m surprised.

I am talking strictly MX. When I was in C I raced a offroad event in “expert” and got a top 5. Having not ever ridden a trail before and being 15 (started riding the year before)

I raced against Chad Reed one day..

He holeshot, I gated 2nd. On the 2nd lap, still in 2nd, completely flustered at who this guy was pulling away, I wasn't concentrating and endoed over a sizeable double jump!

I didn't recover, and the remainder of the day was a washout.

So off road riders are slow...got it!

Well in terms of moto, most “Intermediate” off road riders are not Intermediate Motocross racers. And especially in this case talking about your National class (Loretta Lynn’s class).

30+ expert in WCGP. Which is equivalent to WCGP novice lol
I think that’s where the discrepancy on this forum is. Vet guys (30+, 40+, etc) thinking racing 30+ expert locally is like racing Intermediate or Pro for open age classes. More often than not, novice is the faster class. Most of the time, they wouldn’t even race 30+ expert or 30A nationally.

Yeah, classes can be weird. Realistically, winning the WCGP intermediate class would probably be easier than novice. There’s always that one guy in novice that finishes 2-4 minutes ahead of second. I never won novice, but I did finish a couple minutes ahead of second in intermediate at one point

I think people would be shocked to see the speed gap, or lack of, between guys like dogger and chicken at their current speed, and the guys winning C class at Loretta’s.

Laughing it’s so hilarious to see yahoo’s like you try to sound like you know what you’re talking about. You come on here and spew all this nonsense and absolutely no one here believes a thing you say. It’s so easy to pick out dingalings here Laughing

Anyways, Vet A in HS. Was a local A class MXer who was in the group of guys who could qualify and take around last in A at Lorettas Laughing that’s where guys I raced with who had similar speed as me finished when they’d go. I never tried though, we didn’t have the money to travel there for me to take 30th place.

Bro there’s a difference at the national/world championship pro level. Drop in any local “Expert” offroad guy to an expert MX race is what I’m talking about

Someone here finally understands. If 50% of voters think they are Intermediate - pro at national level they are insane

Zack must have smoked those guys in the GNCC race he did. I mean a novice mx'er wins the expert class off road so one of the best mx riders on the planet would kills those guys
