Somebody got blasted here pre-season, suggesting the new KTM might struggle.

6 rounds in and 23 points behind... the top 10 can flick a switch and start winning racers and be title contenders.

In 1985 Jeff Ward won the title but didn't win a race until the 7th round in Houston. That was an odd year, though. I think there were eight different winners that year!

Mookie is the best he has ever been (except in the whoops but overall he has improved a lot).
Deano is doing pretty good considering in what stage he's in his career. 9th in points when only one top rider is out is good IMO.

Plessinger and Webb are the two head scratching cases. Both have had one good result but otherwise mediocre results. Plessinger is a life-long Yamaha rider so i can see why it could take some time to adapt to the KTM and their whole program. Webb left Aldon so no matter what your stance is on Aldon and if he's good or not, that is a huge change in training program that could potentially be a part of Webb's struggles.

Anyways, Webb has to turn this around starting this weekend. He has lost too many points already and usually the guys that fight for the title start pulling away with consistent podium finishes and wins right about now.
Mookie and Deano are on the old frame though (Edit: I was wrong)

Ironically, Marvin and Cooper both left Aldon this year and are struggling…but with the new bike frame it’s a whole different variable to consider, so who knows

On the flip side, Cooper was still with Aldon in MX last season and didn’t get results until they modified the frame. That’s why I think he’s sensitive to the frame more so than the absence of Aldon’s program

I can't see Webb and Sexton in the same team but who knows and whoever goes to HRC is a seat warmer while Jettson finishes his 250 career.

Remember last year when Coop Rog and others went on an emergency test bike session?
Came back swinging and won the title.

Maybe they should go back to the old frame cuz he sure doesn't seem the same guy. Woohoo
Remember that guy McGrath? Didn’t he use the same frame for a few years…

He won a couple of races.

I think Kenny will call it quits at the end of this year.

I won't underestimate the dude-the 23 point deficit doesn't bother me as much as he either goes backwards or can't move forward, the season opener aside. He just doesn't have the pace at the moment-is it the bike, is it him? A combo? Either way there are a lot of guys in this class wicking it up and setting a pretty torrid pace.

I’m still not out on him yet. I think there are a lot of tight, east coast tracks where the whoops breakdown still to come. If we get out there and he is still in 6-8th then I’d really worry.

He won 8 races last year and 20 in 3 years. He didn’t just lose that speed in one offseason. Aldon is not responsible for every win.

Webb, Kenny, Dylan and Adam I believe.
Also, Tomac is on a 1 year deal at star (with a option for a second) that second year is probably looking pretty good as of now though

KTM/Husky riders are all where they should be apart from Webb, he's having an off year it seems,

Even if he was 100% he's not getting past Tomac, Anderson, Sexton and even mookie they're riding to their potential at the moment.

When was the last time a rider didn't win one of the first 5 rounds and go on to to win the overall?

Last weekend Mookie gets 2nd and if Marv hadn’t of slipped over in the third race, he was on track for 3rd overall as well.
Two new gen bikes on the podium wouldn’t have looked good for Webb, as he was going backwards so fast Barcia nearly ran into the back of him several times on the way past.

It’s not the bike.

Only in 2020, did Tomac smash a statistic that has stood right from the beginning of time.

Statistics are cool and interesting, but don’t mean shit in reality.

A championship points table is literally a statistic. Stats determine betting odds, they obviously mean something and are good predictors of events otherwise casinos wouldn't exist. One podium in the first 5 races and no win do not bode well. The odds of Webb winning the overall are very unlikely. Not impossible, but very unlikely. People say Webb is a slow starter by nature but his two SX championship wins who won Round 3. So far he has one podium.

I think that bike sucks
So first race he gets a second. Did his competition go out and get that much better after that first week? AP got a second the second week....I assume KTM has since forgot how to build a race bike.

He has been beating Kenny for quite a while. Cooper has 19 wins and two championships over the previous 3 SX seasons. Kenny has 9 wins and zero SX championships.

That's not the guy Cooper needs to be measuring up against.

The bike is bad -vs- Webb is off.

Why not both?
