Have been bummed to see him struggle this season, but he still manages to impress me. He nuked himself in the whoops and went to pick his bike up before he even finished crashing. For how bad that was I expected him to pause and think about how he almost sent himself to the hospital or at the very least fidget with his goggles, but no, he just goes straight back to his bike. The dude did a fully attached cartwheel and then hustled to get his bike back on track like it was a routine front end wash. Fucking wild.

Jo just had some bad luck. He got nervous and tight leading. It happens. Now he’s got a taste of what it’s like to lead for awhile.

Well, he just spent 8 of his 9 lives here. That crash had potential to be brutal. Insanely lucky in shitty situation.

I remember Jo saying he needs to push past his comfort level, so he can get faster. Is this the result of him learning that edge between comfort and winning speed?

He was sending it!

Whoops are all about confidence, so I'm curious if his bike stalling previously was a rider error, or bike error, and if that might have had an effect on his confidence in the whoops or not.

Yup, if he does that again, he'll likely need some bones.

Lighten up Francis’s. I’m getting a chuckle out of the new kid. I’m sure it will wear thin soon. But for now he makes me chuckle.

I don’t guess you’ve read the rules about all caps - which means you’re yelling.

Look, Shimoda has the desire and drive to win. He needs a few more races to loosen up a bit. He’s just trying a little too hard at the moment.

I think he was probably beating himself up after stalling the bike and unraveled (mentally). Not the first 250SX rider to do so ... I feel bad for him, all that hard work and talent ... SX is so brutal! You're one doubt away from a cartwheel.

That front flip could’ve been terrible. He’s lucky to get up from that.

I like this kid. I told my buddies to watch him last year and he delivered. The way he was up going after his bike before the crash was even over, was killer. This kid's got more heart than most. He'll be there.

He has all the parts - speed, “heart”, opportunity and willingness to do whatever is required.
Will he get it all together? Time will tell.
Unfortunately “Luck” is also involved. He has some of that as well - after that front cartwheel and finishing the race!!
