Cinci hurt shoulder

This sucks, but I love that Adam is letting us know what's up. Heal up, Adam and I know you'll be winning races sooner rather than later.

AC dropped out of outdoors due to a nerve issue causing numbness and inability to feel the throttle or have grip strength. As for his shoulder issues of the past... It was determined by doctors that his growth didn't allow his shoulder socket to grow properly which would result in easily dislocated shoulders. This was corrected via surgery on both shoulders at different times. His new injury I am not sure if this is a cause or not, and you can heal a grade 3 separation as long as it has the time to heal. If he has been off the bike and doing PT I don't see why it wouldn't have the strength necessary to hit whoops and land in hard G outs. Heres to hoping Adam can keep it on two wheels and post solid results until he is 100%
No way if it’s a 3rd degree separation. Even mild. iI can’t imagine him racing in less than 6 weeks, maybe more.

Damn. I've always wondered what his career would've been if he waited 2-3 years to turn pro so his body could mature a bit more.
Gotta agree here. Plus training at Aldons from the time he was what 12, does Aldon know how to train someone that isn't physically matured? Just my opinion but he should really think about building some muscle mass to keep his joint together better.

You ever had a grade 3 where you snap both ligaments? I’ve done both my shoulders. If they let it heal naturally it takes a long time for the scar tissue and the muscle you eventually need to put back on to stabilize the shoulder. If he gets a tether surgery he won’t be able to lift anything heavier than a can of soda for many weeks or risk setting the healing back a great deal and possibly starting over again.

I did a grade 5 over 8 months ago. Grade 3 is where it’s borderline surgery or letting it heal on its own. I can’t compare mine to his…but I’ve learned a lot about this particular injury over that time. I could not imagine racing with a grade 3.

Tried hitting the gym after I got cleared all restrictions lifted (been no more than 10lbs this whole time) the most I could bench press with dumbbells yesterday was 30lbs after almost 9 freaking months. I never thought I’d quit riding over an injury but damn did it cross my mind a few times during my darkest days. To think riding a professional sx track weeks after his injury seems borderline insane to me. But these dudes are tough as nails

Edit: I had the hook plate surgery which required a 2nd surgery a couple months ago. I started a thread on it a while back when I was pretty down. If anybody needs any info on this in the future hit me up

Lol no, actually. I find it funny that people will disagree but now give their opinion on the matter. Basically like a little girl lying

He reminds me of a slightly faster Trey Canard. Both likeable guys and fast when healthy, but constantly crashing and getting hurt.
Slighly faster?????

Trey won 450 Suprcrosses in his rookie year and after his BIG injuries. Had Trey not been injured, he would of won 450 titles.

Let's wait on AC's verdict.

I have put my entire shoulder to sleep for 9 months with nerve damage alone. Shoulder injuries suck no way around it. But, like I stated above…. He is round the clock rehabbing. I am not stating one way or the other how they do it. But I bet he makes the main event if he stays on two wheels and you need a lot of strength to do that.

Shoulda coulda woulda. Trey is an amazing rider. But he didn’t win titles. In fact they are tied on 250 titles

For some, yes. For the common folk getting wind of Kawasaki crashes and the outcomes have been “by people that were there” “rough day for Kawasaki” “Kawi riders down” etc etc. from people that were there “AC wrist” “Forkner out for minutes” and WTF knows about DiFrancesco (sp)

This hush hush, whisper whisper, don’t tell anyone crap is high school at best

What advantage or dis advantage does it give either party (riders) knowing this information. You show up to win no matter who has jock itch, blue balls or a broken clavicle

Sounds like this was his first time back riding after the injury? I would rather him sit out and come back (mostly) healed than to rush back. We all know what will happen

Not surprised in the least. If it wasn't pre-season, it woulda been within the first few weeks.

As mentioned before. Like AC a lot....but damn if the kid can't stay off the ground.

What? Trey won a 250 SX title his rookie year and beat RV to do it. AC never won a SX title after like 5 years of trying. He still hasn't won a 450 race, Trey won his rookie year.

AC is more like Dean Wilson. Lots of personality. Won some 250 sx races but never a title. Got an outdoor championship but instantly got hurt in 450.

Didn’t Wilson win a SX east championship and a 250 national title?

Edit: turns out Wilson never did get it done in 250 sx, 250 national champ in 2011

Any ortho guys; how do you repair nerve damage?
You cant. You can hope some drugs work like Lyrica but they dont most of the time. I have full body nerve damage from a Government Anthrax vaccine. Nothing works for me except pain killers. But that of course is a double edge sword.

Sorry to hear you’re going through this after getting a vaccine shot. I have nerve damage from my neck, that goes down my shoulder, around my elbow and down into my thumb and index finger. Finger and thumb are permanently numb and arm comes and goes. The burning that I get in my neck/ shoulders is pure hell, but lucky for me, it comes and goes.
I’ve tried several different nerve pain meds and they all made me feel really weird and didn’t help much.
I’ve had really good luck with CBD for the nerve pain, but I have to take 250ml a day to get the mist out of it. It’s a $200 a month cost, but I’d pay $500, if I had to…,
Here’s what has worked for me-
https://scmedicinals.com/15-000mg-mango-tincture/
It’s worth a try. I take pain pills when I have to, but hate to rely on them.

It’s the AC joint not the shoulder joint, as can be seen in the diagram above, they are two completely different things. The AC joint has very little forces put on it when riding properly…that is until he makes a mistake and tractions his arm violently or worse crashes on it again. Four weeks into it, the acute pain from the initial tear and inflammation shouldn’t be too much of an issue. However; it will be super unstable. However however he can reduce the separation by taping the fuck out of it and make it fairly secure. Ala Jeff Stanton! At this point the issues are: not having the seat-time leading up to A1, not being able to ride quite as aggressively as he would like to and having the chance of making a mistake and compounding the injury. Don’t give up on ACs AC yet. Maybe this is what he needs to make him focus more and not make silly mistakes. His last lesson before his first 450 Supercross championship!

AC separations suck! This is his first AC separation so it will be sore but with taping and rehab he will be fine, the problem is if he crashes on that shoulder he could be finished for the season. That is what happened to me, I never let it heal up all the way and kept damaging it to the point that surgery to have a synthetic ligament installed because my original ligament was so badly damaged. Mind you this was back in 1980, they have came a long way in the medical field since then.
