The dude posts stories on IG making fun of people at the local tracks, but runs a local race series. I find that a little ironic/douchey, but post whatever you want in your own social media..

Been a while but he did screw Jeremy McGrath pretty badly and made himself look bad as a journalist back in the late 90s. Jeremy was switching from Fox to No Fear and gave Donn an exclusive (then an editor at MXracer) which wasn't suppose to be run until after New Years when his Fox contract was void. Instead Donn ran it in the December issue instead and Fox refused the pay the remainder of McGrath's contract, which he claimed was still over $200k.

Other than that I'm just not a fan of the guy's interview style. He tries too hard to bro down instead of looking for actual content in my opinion.

I’ve never known about this before and do just watched this. I have to say from this video alone, I’m on ‘Team Adrian’.

Swap- “when I enquired with Yamaha whether this was a good idea, that said absolutely not! Bring it back, we don’t want you riding that bike”

Adrian- “that’s not what I heard, I heard they said they took it back because you complained about it”

Few minutes later…

Swap- “if you’d have called me up and asked could you do this I’d have said no! I don’t want my frame drilled”

It’s pretty obvious Swap was whining to Yamaha..

The other thing about the bike being dirty… it sounds perfectly feasible that Adrian would’ve washed it, but the guys arranged to receive it after coming straight from the track..then Swap says the guys at Yoshimura were complaining about it being dirty. It’s a shame we didn’t get the guys from yoshimura on the phone.. someone was telling lies here.

No complaints here but nothing else either.

Kind of off topic, I wish Daniel Blair got more credit. That guy puts the effort in, knows plenty from being there and doing it and is as professional as he could be without turning himself into some boring robot, awesome dude and most of what he does is good stuff. Not heard him talk shit on anyone either which is always nice...

Moto media seem to often have WAY over inflated egos for not that good a reason, frankly, and DB acts like a normal guy, as he should.

Don is a homer. You can almost take it to the bank that when Don interviews anyone particularly with a lot of clout/notoriety he will almost certainly try to force the point that they have some sort of exclusive friendship. He bros down too much with riders on camera. He’ll keep on keepin on though because a lot of people will continuously big him up for his good work when in reality it’s mediocre at best for reason mentioned above my post (mono-toned, broing down, sound issues and awkward questioning and delivery).

Listen every monday or Tuesday, but yes audio is terrible for such a large platform. And the pre recorded commercial sponsors are absolute horrible. No lead in or outro back to podcast is the worst.
Pulp mentioned it to dark side about about changing that (never listened) but he apparently he did. The pre recorded stuff is the worst part about it. Janky and unprofessional imo

I'd love to form an opinion or "hot take" off of that exchange (and I might have in the moment). But, it was Matthes at his "TMZ best" Jerry Springer would have been humbled. I like Adrian's products and Donn's contribution to this sport. One interview ain't changing that opinion.

I listen to most of his content and YouTube interviews and vlogs but I don’t know if it’s just my opinion but seems to be a little entitled for everyone giving him free bikes and parts, free graphics on all his test bikes and gear etc. Don’t think he actually lays out much cash. Hell I think even his helmet painter does them for free? I don’t know.

What’s Pulp’s show to ad ratio compared to Inside Line? Last I listened there was a shit ton of ads throughout the Pulp show. I have no issue with that, because Mathes needs/deserves to earn a living, too, but that’s a bigger turn off for me than paying $5/month…

But him and Jeremy are good friends now, so that isn’t relevant at this stage.
