I live in So. Orange County CA. This is not LA so leave your homeless, shit in the street BS for other folks. I just left the grocery store and it was packed! But, people were letting people with just a few items go to the front of the checkout while wishing them Merry Christmas. Everyone was very friendly even with the long lines and crowded store. Some people were wearing masks, some weren’t and nobody cared.

Just like it is in any city in America!

I moved to SoCal from Western PA (which we loved) and have moved way too many times to count. People are people and where you live is 100% what you make of it.

To the OP: Like some of the others have said, maybe look to move inland a little bit and get away from the beach crowd. I wouldn't live within a walking distance from the beach because of all the problems you mentioned.

Merry Christmas neighbor (if 40 miles north is a neighbor) and thanks for your years of serving the people of San Diego county.

Inland is a whole different world compared to the beach cities. Every time I'm in Newport/Balboa, Redondo or any other beach city I just ask myself "Why the hell would anyone wanna live down here". Even the nicer parts with no homeless are just way too crowded and overpopulated for my liking. I also don't surf or own a boat though. Being inland there may not be as much to do but you are closer to all of the tracks and people are just way more normal. Something to consider OP.

The biggest problem I see if people from CA or NY fleeing the states that their politics ruined, then moving to desirable states then voting for the same liberal policies in their adopted home state that ruined their former states.

Yea, LA proper is a total shithole. I'm down there frequently for work, and I can't wait to get the fuck out of there everytime. Sooooo many people, garbage everywhere, never ending sea of bums. I don't understand how anyone with money decides to live there.

You get paid well, but you're surrounded by filth. I don't get paid well, but I do get fresh air and I don't have to worry about a hobo shitting on my doorstep.

Illinois is home to me. I like it here and could never leave. There are a ton of tracks within 3 hours of Chicagoland. We have three indoor tracks that are close as well. Taxes are high….but the schools are good. Season’s change and it gets cold. When it’s cold….we take a break from riding. When spring comes….the feeling is amazing. We hole up in the winters and talk.

For me….I can easily get over-obsessed with the greatest sport in the world. The break allows me to be a more complete person.

I’m not muzzled nor jabbed and get along just fine dealing with day to day life. For the most part the mask police have quietly gone away

Didn’t really mean for this to turn into a pissing match. Filtering through post is some good info and possible new areas around the country to at least go vacation and ride if a move never pans out. Except Canada, fuck that frozen tundra. To many industrious beavers up there.

Merry Christmas to all!!

I particularly hate Canadian because they know the difference between "to" and "too". Fuckin' nerds.

Personally, I would go to Tennessee or Florida. Kentucky is not bad if you stay out of Louisville.

It's sad it's a "left , right" thing . But then pretty much everything is nowadays. People have to categorize and make judgments off of that perception right away . The fact is most are somewhere in between . Oh yeah .... Merry Christmas everyone .

Gain loss chart might be less biased if instead, percents were given. Whatever. I moved from the lowest CA to the highest FL in 1977. Given the choice now, I would move to no income tax Nevada, adjacent to the California border. On weekends I would drive into CA, and steal < $950 crap from multiple stores. Rent a mini warehouse and store the stolen crap there. Drive back to NV home and sell the crap on Craigslist and Ebay. Bit of a protest against CA liberal policies.

California has its warts for sure, but as someone who came here after growing up in Florida and living in Texas and Colorado, I can honestly say there’s more to do here than any other state. Moto is still better here than any other state, even Florida. If you’re leaving SoCal for any state and you want to go find places to ride a well-groomed track 6-7 days a week, you won’t be happy. If you’re a vet rider like me, you’ll def not find a similar vet scene as what we have in this state.

I just shut the news off and go to the places I know that have the vibe I like and I ride a ton of Moto, while also snowboarding and surfing all within a 3 hour trip. Sometimes I even stop in wine country after riding my dirt bike in the AM.

Hard life, I know.

Are you sure those aren't people tired of the bullshit that never have a voice in those states leaving for states with similar values. Personally everyone that I know that has moved or is considering moving at this point is tired of what's going on in their state and want to move to place with similar ideals and views. Just my .02
