I disagree. I am 160, 6 feet tall, B class speed on my good days (at 34, less and less of those). It's sprung soft for me, if anything. After chatting with Jake at the PA FC shop, we agreed it can get too low in the stroke and feel bound up and pogo-sticky. The fork has a harsh and too fast of a transition in the mid stroke, which actually measures it's too soft. We are going to go stiffer in the rear because of my height, and might go stiffer in the front. They also have a link they are working on. He said they were trying a sag as low as 110.

I love the way it handles through turns, but on high speed rough stuff, I feel like I can't hit stuff with quite as much confidence, I want a bit more hold up with a less rear end high feeling.

Anyways, I don't think any of the issues are with it being sprung too softly, at least for my height, weight, speed.

I think Ping said it was pretty much perfect, one click on the clickers... just read MXA today and they hated it, they said it was really bad... on Vital it's too soft, then too harsh...

I wonder what it will be for me at 185lbs and not very fast. Too bad it's winter outside and xmas... but in a few months...

the same problems It also had the 450 21 The next year they improved it a lot

From what I have read the 2022 450 suspension has similar complaints as the 250. I found backing the rebound clickers out two and the compression in four helped a little.

That’s because suspension and chassis setup is the most personal/subjective thing in this sport.

Too harsh and too soft are often the same thing. I’m not surprised a Honda / Showa bike is more finicky to set up. I think it depends a lot on speed and weight, a bit on height and style.

Silva shock looks interesting but it also looks like it does not hold as much shock fluid. With less fluid Does it overheat and fade?

For sure. Hard to take someone that rides once a month seriously on bike reviews. Regardless of there past experience.

Hope to check it out Thursday, If not it will be Sunday. Christmas is interfering with getting out.

The on the stand test revealed it is quieter & that raspy note is all but gone.
The over all tone is deeper & you hear more sound through air box.

I'll ride it .Then take it off & run stocker B2B so I have a same day same track comparison.
Full disclosure. It has an XPR vortex mapped for T4.

It goes to the selling dealer first week of January. Local dealer was not much help so I wasted a lot of time there. Looking at the pictures the problem is worst at the end of the oil passage and gets better as it gets closer to the feed so best guess is weak oil pump or more likely some kind of blockage in an oil passage. I assume since there was no debris in the oil that the screen won’t be plugged up.

Apparently Honda has a plastic oil pump gear, but the tech said those don’t fail often so we will see when they tear it down. He also said Honda uses pre made gaskets so there should not be rtv chunks to clog the screen or passages either.

The pictures were sent to Honda by the local dealer and the response was it was low on oil so no warranty. It wasn’t low on oil so we will see what the selling dealer finds when they tear it down.

2022 CRF 250 Yosh SS full system review

The bad. It is just over 2lbs heaver than the stock pipe. The 3 springs they send are the same length . So the one you install on the mid joint gets stretched out too far , over stretching spring . Coils are all pulled apart permanently.
Other wise nice fit & workman ship. Comes with extra bolt , anti seize for slip fit , exhaust plug & spring puller.

My stock bike/ pipe has a bit of excitement off crack of throttle then very liner up to a flat spot then a small upper end hit
Revving out nicely. Stock mid can feel a bit empty but not bad. Tested back to back w/ yosh same track..

SS Yosh initial feel was like you added a tooth to the rear sprocket. it pulls into the mid with more authority albeit smoother at crack of throttle.
The low to upper mid boost It's what stood out for me. It pulls harder sooner then a nice smooth boost of power that transitions into a slightly better top.
recovery & pulling the wrong gear is improved. jumps that you don't have the run you would like, the yosh has a better torque feel to have confidence to get over said obstacle.

The yosh head pipe appears to be longer than stock by just a bit. I assume this is source of the low end.
I did not pull the insert ring/ screen. I'll see what removing it does later.

I was actually expecting it to enhance mid & top end for a scream only pipe. But the low & mid are very noticeably increased with very slightly top increase. Hard do do all 3 areas . The additional weight was a disappointment but I cant say it was noticeable.

Can a 2022 CRF 250 still be had or due to covid were they just a short list of first come first serve? I am waiting on a brand new snowmobile that has had it's delivery pushed off, and coupled with a dud of a winter I am really close to telling them to keep it and maybe I would buy a CRF. FYI I haven't looked around or talked to any dealers about availability, just kind of a brain fart I have been having the last hour or two.

How much are you guys paying OTD for one of these right now? I'm assuming every dealership is getting full MSRP for these at the moment, right? Any markups?

Mine is supposed to be here Jan 14th and I paid 8200.00+tax for mine. I went through a small Honda dealership. Places like this seem to be the ones that don’t rape you with extra fees.

My Son (fast B / A rider) rode one Friday and said it was the best 250 he's ever rode. I will pick one up this week. I don't read or watch shootouts any more as they discredited themselves long ago IMO.

That's a good price in these times. Anything under $8,500 + tax (which is technically MSRP plus destination from Honda) is fair.

It isn’t doing too hot in the shoot outs for whatever that is worth. The steering feels really good and the engine is a lot better than the older model right off idle but that isn’t where a fast b/a rider would be.

Eh, for what it's worth (I am not a fast B rider, I would struggle to stay with the main pack at a major B race), I am about 2 seconds a lap faster (compared to a 2020 YZ250F with Enzo Suspension) on average on a sand track that is almost 3 minutes long. I just make less mistakes / carry more momentum in the turns on the Honda. Maybe if you are a great in corners, you can utilize the motor on the Yamaha, but I cannot. The ergonomics on Honda, for me (I am 6 feet tall) also make it easier to practice good technique, balls of the feet, attack position, standing more.

I purchased one last week and started buying aftermarket parts. Many are on backorder....

- Vortex ECU
- Yosh TI Exhaust
- XTRIG Clamps (red)
- Raptor Foot Pegs (TI)
- CRF Front Disk Kit
- ARC Clutch Lever
- Forks and Shock will be sent to Factory Connection.

I pick up the bike this weekend. Stay tune for a riding report. My first four stroke... I figure I should buy one before the e-moto craze.

EVERYTHING is on back order. lol People who have 2021 Kawi 450’s STILL can’t get an exhaust.
