I think we have had them every year except one here in Canada.

I dont follow ktm generation changes like i do the jap bikes… but does this new generation mean that the 2 strokes will receive the updated frame and body for 23?

And what about the other color KTMs? Will gasgas and husky follow?
Yes.
Husky yes. GG no on the new platform.

Anyone else notice the hand adjustable low & high compression on the shock? Awesome.

The FE's that introduce a new generation bike never feature aftermarket exhausts. They only throw those on the subsequent FE models that are unchanged.

Akro will likely be on next years FE, the bike probably will seeing minor updates next year. KTM has done this in the past with all new FE's.

That's what I thought. That said, the press release for the new bikes mentions that they'll only be available in the US.

That's why I asked.

No need to ever debate. All this shit is personal preference. Bought my cone valves from Powerband set up for my ability and weight. I’m 56 and 6’ and 194lb. They are great just not as good as my sons stock 2019 forks for me.

Really really curious how much this thing weighs! Damn, I've never wanted a KTM more than I do now. This thing looks so sweet! Love the innovation. Time for the Japanese brands to step up.

Did they go with the old design motor on the 450? I thought the bottom end was going to be based on the 250/350 design? Some photo's of web on the other thread show that motor in his bike.

I get it, dealing with WP pro stuff to get it working for you is a pain in the ass as compared to Kayaba - BUT _ when you do get the shock and the fork working together, it is superior to most any stock or mod suspension available.

Most of the time you actually have to go stiffer on the shock to make the fork work better.

KTM's usually wants to "Chopper" out in the front because of the shock angle, and slack recommended sag settings (apparently they fixed this for the 2023 model).

but if the WP Pro fork is at the correct rake it makes a pretty big difference on how they work, it is shit no one from KTM tells you.

a 2MM longer dog bone link works well also I have found.

Try 94 to 98 MM sag on your shock and turn in the HS comp more to get the bike more level.

It acually gained weight for this model, 226lbs without fuel for the 450

Where was the weight gained? Seems it ought to be lighter, save for maybe the new computer stuff and fuel level sensor. But that shouldn't weight much at all.

Ya something is not adding up here, spec sheets say 250 gained 5 lbs. and 450 3 lbs. yet they claim to have reduced weight on almost every new part on the bike ??

Skid plate, front rotor guard, plastic subframe, radiator shrouds and fancy seat all might be adding some ounces. Edit: Does the factory edition also have beefier wheels and spokes?

Does seem odd though to see an increase in weight.

Noticed and major thumbs up.

I might be out of luck with rolling parts over.
New footpeg mount ? ( maybe )
New handlebar mount ( unsure if mako360 will carry over )
New clutch cover, hard to know on this one.

Still be worth hanging onto my 21 waiting for the 23 I reckon.

They are claiming new subframe is lighter.
I have the Factory wheelset and they are a few grams lighter than stock wheels.

What are the prices for these? Are we looking at 16k+ otd for the 450 after markups?

It's only a US release when they actually do the generation updates. 2012, 2015, 2018 and now 2022. Other years they're available in other markets too!

There are some big changes on the bikes. Frame is very different with the isolated shock tower and 250 engine is almost completly new. New head, new cases and a different bore stroke ratio.

I think the 250F will rev like hell with that bore - stroke ratio! Will be interesting to test one back to back with the current bike. Quickshifter will also be an interesting faeture I think, especially on a 250F :-)

81 mm bore is big for a 250! That’s 3 mm more than before and results in a tiny stroke. If they somehow manage to get a decent low end performance out of it, this engine will be hard to beat. Nobody will come close in peak HP.
