The problem is that you all think that the people who want to shut them down do not also want to shut you down. Siding against these guys will not save you or your track.

There are people in this world who do not understand anything remotely dangerous. And they won't allow anything that doesn't fit quietly into a gymnasium or that disturbs their sense of order in this world.

They are coming for the wheelie Boyz, they are coming for your local track, they are coming for you noisy gas guzzling motorcycle, and they are coming for your single track.

If you don't support these guys then stay out of it. Don't join the side of the exact same people who will shut down your track in a heartbeat.

This is 100% horse shit Kage. Dedicated offroad areas and tracks do get attacked for sure , but for many different reasons. Mainly noise. These guys , whom you think are on " our side " of riding bikes aren't anything like our sport. Absolutely nothing.

What laws are being broken by showing up to a track , or an ORV park , legal single track , ect....?? None.

What laws are these idiots breaking? Every single one you can imagine , including most being on stolen bikes.

These urban riders have nothing in common with the 99.9% of the people on this board , or this sport! Please don't ever lump me in together with these people. I am not their kind!

Laws? Read any issue of AMA magazine to find how many laws the eco people want to pass to keep you from enjoying a ride on federal land.

I can send you a heartbreaking Facebook post from a young guy here in Texas that spent his life savings to open a track with his wife. They did everything right. Had a lawyer onboard from the beginning to make sure they were in compliance, had the neighbors onboard and everything. After opening, neighbor changed his mind, it went to court and judge ruled against them. Shut it down. Laws are a fickle thing and can turn against you fast.

Jeez man, when I was in my twenties I had a sport bike. We were hauling ass doing wheelies all over the place. Every Thursday night a big group would go on rides and we'd do wheelies for miles on the highway. It was a blast. I loved every minute of it. Can't believe I'm the only one on a motocross forum.

I'm not saying get out there and support them. Just don't pile on the bs. There are plenty of Karens in minivans to do that.

And no I don't condone stealing bikes.

For me, Urban Freestyle is like a “War on Dirt-Biking”…

All the while, I’d be stoked to find these folks some venues to do their thing.

Where’s Will Smith? Let’s do this. All it takes is time, money and the desire to make good things happen.

Yes we are under attack but the criminal Boyz dont help our cause in any way shape or form. When non riders see or read about the wheelie boyz they are not impressed and lump them with anyone that rides a motorcycle and that reflects poorly on us.
Not what we need.

That's where you're wrong. Nonriders will never understand us nor sympathize with the way we have fun and experience life. They don't get it. They avoid danger and noise at all costs. They don't want to be hot, dirty or sweaty. They don't want to hear the roar of a motor. They want a quiet peaceful hike through the woods with the birds singing. They want a quiet piece of land out in the country.. They will shut you down as fast as the wheelie Boyz. The only difference is that you can afford to drive to BFE every weekend....and the yuppies haven't gotten out there...yet.

I wonder how often these guys change their oil. Or what kind of oil they use. For that matter, really any insight into what kind of maintenance they do on these bikes would be fascinating.
None.. When my 450 was stolen and I managed to track it down and recover it at a "bike night" it required a FULL rebuilt top to bottom. It was roached. Crank, Tires, Bars, Pegs, all controls, plastics, etc. Went from mint to clapped out in 9 days.

These threads always turn into a borderline racist shitshow..
I’m not into doing wheelies in the streets at all, and in no way do I condone any illegal activity..
But if I’m 100% honest, it’s more appealing to me than Trials.. so I guess, each to their own.

I don't like the wheelie boyz and what it associates to moto in the eyes of the general public.
However, does it distract the public from going after genuine off-road riding areas for closure?
It seems like if the biggest problem in perceived "moto" is the wheelie boyz, then the public isn't going after closing riding areas because not an immediate danger to their safety driving around town.
Or it could be the opposite and draws attention to everything moto as bad.
I'm not sure, but I thought I'd throw it into the dumpster fire.

It is now “popular” for others after watching years of absolutely nothing ever happening to the “wheelie boys” re: the LAW

Big fuggin deal you rode wheelies as a kid. Did you realize that you typed you were doing it on a “street bike”. Did you block traffic, run stoplights, swerve in an out of traffic recklessly, cause accidents, hit innocent pedestrians, and on and on.

I love motorcycles (all kinds) as much as anyone but also do my part to do it responsibly as should everyone!

The "general public" does not call them wheelieboyz, they call them assholes. No one, not one single person in the "general public" would associate said assholes with law abiding dirt bike riders, you're just rednecks to them.

As someone who's ridden for nearly 50 years whenever I see someone (such as yourself and your buds back in the day) "hauling ass doing wheelies all over the place" it would tick me off because you're making a bad name for all of us 'bikers'. Take it to the track and quit being a good example of another rider giving our sport a black eye.

I know the general public are as clueless as it gets, but it's a pretty simple distinction between these wheelie whatevers and folks riding motocross or enduro or desert.

People don't see some guy get laid out in a bar fight and then go after boxing gyms do they?

Look at the title of the article. The general public, comprised of casual observers who do not know the difference between a Harley and a Hodaka, see these idiots on the streets and just think "dirt bikes".
