Oh, sorry you didn’t like my answer to your question. You’ve now added specifics that only apply to RJ, so it’s an impossible question to answer

My original reply was to a guy that stated that riders with a win it or bin it reputation on 250s move up to 450s find success by “settling down” on the bigger and heavier bike. Maybe that will happen in RJ’s case, but the fact that Johnny needed to go back 3 decades to find an example indicates that it isn’t the norm. I certainly wish RJ the best if he does move up next year before securing that elusive 250 title.
Maybe not the norm, but it has happened. Which was your question.

You are the one bringing championships up, and were proven wrong. The original question was "who has moved up and tamed a 450".. by that definition, Brayton has; since he won a 450 race and did squat on 250z

This is Vital bro. That's the way it's done around here.

The first name to jump out at me was RJ (not Hampshire) but I am sure I could find a few more if it was worth my time.

Sorry. I’m referring to the AMA series (where RJ races) where the discussion involves both Supercross and Motocross and excludes works bikes. In Supercross, if a rider has a hard time holding onto a 250 long enough to win a title, chances are that he won’t be strong enough to do so on a faster bike in a series that is twice as long.
I really don’t follow the GP Series at all. Was Febvre a win it or bin it type rider on 250s before he moved up?
Febvre didnt stay long in 250cc category. But he was european champion on it, and finished 3rd of the MX2 world championship in 2014 (with some GP victories) before moving up to the big boys class.
Not so bad if you ask me!

Actually In his mid-teens Febvre was very promising at Supermoto. Every time I see slick, hard pack track. it's Febrvres race to win. That throthle control, and sliding what he learned in Supermoto pays dividens

Husky should pick up Hartranft or Anstie if this is true. Or Schock
Hartranft will be back with HEP and Antsie looks to be headed to RMATV…

Zach has a weird riding style seems like he sits on the back of the bike.. anyone else notice that?

I remember years ago commenting on how his riding style made my back hurt..

Sounds like Aldon has worn out yet another rider, before their time. The insane work load he puts on riders wears them down and out. Especially when considering an "older" rider like Zack who has put in a lot of years before getting to Aldon. I'm a big fan of Zack and hope he can move past this injury.

Id rather make it to my ultimate goal for one year than peter dick around mid pack for 10 years.

Not if your ultimate goal was to make as much money as possible through a longer career.

Name one. If a guy can’t win a title on the small bike, he won’t win one on the big bike. I guess if they get him cheap enough and they are looking for a guy that can bring home an occasional podium in between his crashes, RJ is their guy. Moving RJ up still leaves Husky without a title contender in any class next year.

How is a back injury related to being “worn out”….When people don’t know shit they just make shit up…

No matter what the decision will be, Zach was a beloved racer in Europe. I rooted himself for him, every time when the gate dropped

i don't know, a championship and all the money and accolades that comes with it might actually be worth more than a 10 year journeymen would make.

Luckily for us Zach has done both…he’s had a long career and championships…

Not necessarily. I think some guys settle down on the 450 because of the extra weight and the inability to throw it around as easily.

Stanton never raced a 125 National, and even tho the only time he raced a 125 GP support race, he smashed everyone, we’ll never know if he could’ve.

Larocco would have won the 125 title if he didn’t have 2 mechanical DNFs.

Good for Hartranft - I think he will get better next year and surprise some.
Who will replace Antsie on HEP and will the 722 be back or are they looking elsewhere?

Zach started working with Aldon in autumn 2016 ahead of the 2017 season. Look at his results before and after:

https://vault.racerxonline.com/rider/zach-osborne/races

Pretty obvious to me that Zach would not complain about Aldon's workload. He already had back issues from birth, then add in wear and tear and a couple of big crashes and voila. Hard to say any of that is a result of Aldon.

The E in HEP stands for Enticknap so I'm pretty sure he'll be back.

Wrong. George Holland, Billy Ezernack and Dustin Pipes make up H.E.P.

I’m well aware of the circumstances. It was a trivia question, those are the answers. Background info is irrelevant on Jeopardy

Ah my bad, I thought there was some money directly from the Enticknaps. I knew the Holland and Pipes components.
Apologies for the confusion.
