I think whoever gets a 1-1 out of these next 3 races. Jmart is definitely the spoiler.

After Mt Morris Martin was in 8th 60 points behind Lawrence who led the points with 132 over Cooper with 121.

Right now Martin is 60 behind Cooper.

So since Red Bud J Mart has outscored Jett but lost ground to Cooper.

Just rooting for it to come down to the last round. Not a huge fan of either guy at this point. Jett tries wayyyyyyyyyyy too hard (the dab was PAINFUL) and is getting forced down our throats by the media to be the next big thing, and Cooper seems to be full of excuses whenever he doesn’t win. I’d rather see about anyone besides these two win and it feels like it would have been a Jeremy Martin walk had he been healthy but we get what we get.
I agree about about the media swinging off Jetts sack, it's irritating. The dab I don't care about, I see it just like James doing the sprinkler back in the day. I think Justin just has kinda of a mopey face and when he speaks it comes off wrong. I don't really care about anything but their on track performance and they seem to be taking slightly different paths to the same destination. It should be good!

I wonder what Jett meant by "been a rough week".
Sick? Practice crash?

For me it's too hard to pick a winner. Jett does seem to have a little edge in raw speed and his starts seem okish the last 2 rounds.
If he doesn't keep getting the starts IMO it goes to Cooper.

Funny that I like Cooper because of his dry since of humor but has great style on the bike. Jett because he is a 18 year old living his life. Both seem like grounded young guy going for a championship. J Mart is the guy just grinding it out throwing a wrench in the championship. Have to wonder when it comes to team tactics at star Yamaha.

I think jett might take it remember in supercross Cooper in the shootout rode very average just to bring it home he obviously was feeling the pressure jett is only a kid still I don’t think he feels pressure as much best thing for jett would be going into final round 2 points behind Cooper to make him feel the pressure more

Jettson needs them starts. But the Star Yamaha bikes out of the gate are practically unstoppable.

side note;
Knowing Jett has his brother Hunter who can run up front, i wonder if it will come into play come the last round.
Does Jmart keep trying to win races or get team orders?

When Cooper has an off moto JMart winning is exactly what the team wants to see.

I like Cooper a lot and was hoping that he would take this title. Consistent starter, excellent in qualifying, but seems to be 50/50 in the motos in the last few races. I know the crash at Washougal was a big issue for points and injury... but it seems like there are a lot of excuses and maybe he has issues in his 'head'.

Going with Jett for the Championship.

I can already see the 10 page thread full of "team orders" whining and crying when J-Mart gets up into Jett in a corner and Cooper wins the title. Especially when it's Jett. He attracts the younger, emotional crowd. 10 page thread about "feelings" is coming. It's going to be ugly. Use the thumbs down under my post to get your feelings warmed up to operating temperature for the internet.

I would give my left nut for them to be tied in points heading into the final Moto 2.

They are separated by only 2 points right now. For all intents and purposes, the season starts over right now. Jett has the momentum, Justin arguably has the better bike and more consistent riding style. Normally, I'd pick the quiet, workmanlike champion over the flashy guy, but I think the donut eater might be the guy this time. Jett is my pick.

Pulling for Jett, after hearing him and Hunter on Whisky Throttle, gave me a new appreciation for their drive. And I promised myself a big rainbow sprinkled doughnut if he wins it........so there's that..........

Barring crashes or DNFs they are going to be really close in points by the time that last moto starts.

It looks to me like Cooper is doing all he can to keep a 250 under control. That really comes into play at the end of moto 2 and even more so if the track is rough.

This won't be a popular opinion but unless something changes he won't be a top 5 450 rider (maybe not even top 10). Jett is already stronger on the bike at 18 than Cooper is at 23.

I'm not sure I agree with that. To me, it just looks like Cooper has a smooth, flawless style. Simply because he doesn't hang it out as much as Jett does does not mean he is lacking in the control department. If anything, it's just the opposite.

I agree. I think Justin fools us with how in control he looks. Kind of like JMB back in the day (no I'm not saying Justin is the next JMB!) you don't realize just how quick he is until something goes wrong. And it's not that Jett is out of control really either he just has a different posture on the bike and seems to maybe use a little more muscle at times.

I´m fan of both of them.. I was more of a Justin fan before but after listening the wiskey throttle show men it´s so hard!!

I just hope it goes down to the wire and nothing bad happens (injury, DNF, or whatever) and whoever wins, wins it without the other one having a DNF or anything.

If it goes like this we are likely to witness a great finale!!

I think two races ago it looked like cooper was getting worked over by his bike. Bike hits a hole or bump and it tries to toss him off. With Jett it is the opposite. I guess we will see.

Why would you think Jett is better under immense pressure? He coughed up the points lead he had this summer. And JCoop has already won a title this year

Of course they are different riders for their ages. At 18 Cooper was still racing at Loretta Lynn’s and was relatively unknown until that year. That's a weird comparison.

An 18 year old has better strength on a bike than a 23 year old. Why isn’t it fair to make that comparison? If the 23 year old was stronger then I could see your point.

I thought you were referencing the strength of his skill level, not his actual ability to muscle the bike around.

But I don't think muscle is what makes Jett fast.

I agree with you. But doesn't Stanton say it hurt him when he went on whatever bandwagon that lost him musclemass for weight? You have a point for sure, but I also sometimes wonder if the cyclist-esque era, isn't... doesn't matter. What do we all think moto would be if bikes had stayed smokers and Stew would've been able to dominate rather than have to race everybody who can grab a handfull and put their balls on the bars, as the catch-phrase was a year or few ago. Sorry, I got off topic. But I think it's all relevant, and worthy of discussion Smile

Langston has said it a few times. Jett's lower body strength is a big part of how he rides and can control and muscle the bike.
