Maybe he's the new Tomac and his shitty starts won't matter. We're gonna see his own version of "beast mode." LoL idk. Roczen is so good at starts and always has been. Could be the difference between for the title if it comes down to these two

I hear a lot of people talking about his fitness. I just watched Swaps "How was your weekend?" DF is actually riding a stationary bike in his interview. After two 35min motos he's riding a stationary bike. Wow
It helps your body keep the blood moving to prevent soreness as well as removes all lactic acid.

Dylan definitely has my attention after Colorado. I believe he is a legit threat to this title. I'm just hoping that Ken isn't going to stink it up all summer and kick everyone's ass! I'm somewhat surprised by both guys right now.

At this rate tomac is going to be the #2 guy. Getting romped by a rookie.

Seems like the Vital members don’t share your opinion. It won’t happen. The industry thinks I’m a clown and don’t think Dylan’s success has anything to do with me training & coaching him the last 4 seasons. I have no street cred for whatever reasons… Doesn’t really matter because I don’t do it to land a big job with a big paycheck and a nice team shirt. I do it for my own satisfaction and prove myself I can “make” the strongest guy out there who can win premier class races.
For real though. You have to respect the shit out of this response!

Hats of to DV.

I wouldn't flog yourself too hard. Many share the sentiment that Aldon doesn't "make" champions either; it's just the nature of being the trainer/riding coach (or mechanic, suspension tech, nutritionist, etc) vs the dude on the bike twisting grip.

As for Dylan, THIS is the 450 title-threat rookie I thought we'd see in SX. Glad to see him up front battling for wins.

The difference is that Aldon is a trainer. He has riders on a specific regimen compared to DV who knows everything you can know about the sport. He is able to see the little things Aldon can only dream of. He also knows the physical conditioning needed to be in the battle. I would take DV a no nonsense guy any day of the week over Aldon

Actually and originally, Steve Matthes was vocal against Star Racing about hiring some euro guy (Dylan) instead of US talent for the 250 class. I remember sending him messages at the time, to alert him that this guy had held off Herlings and just took a moto from him in Italy and that I doubted any Loretta Lynn's kid could do stuff like that ! The good thing about Steve is that he is able to remind of this attitude he had and openly admitted on his shows how wrong he was. Still, when listening to last week's post-Pala show, neither him, JT$ or Weege was willing to give full credit to Dylan and put him on the top list for Colorado. IMO, the DF14/DV12 combo is great and will produce (already is) serious dammage on the MX scene. At Thunder Valley, he passed each and everyone of these guys fairly easily at some point (although Kenny re-passed him). This will give him the confidence he was never able to build up during the SX season. The old guard's current failure opens a wide door for him. 30 years after JMB we might have a serious French contender for a title in the big class (DV & Tortelli were legit contenders but never succeeded), it's huge.
I would add Musquin as a premier class title legit contender too (was not so far behind Anderson indoors and Tomac outdoors). Like Vuillemin and Tortelli he didnt achieve the goal...

Speaking of setup. What do you think is the most unique thing that Dylan does that helps him?

The talent has always been there. This was just 5 years ago and when Herlings was flying on the KTM 250sxf

Everyone remembers this race. Because it was the only moto Dylan beat jeffrey straight up. In one moto. I really like dylan and he is a better rider know than he ever was. But he had nothing for herlings the years he raced mx2. He has a better chance now imo!

I was surprised how the industry pundits treated him as such an underdog. He was such a tenacious beast on the 250. Outdoors shaping up great 2 rounds in.

A little too much bro show in the punditry.

Him being a beast shouldn’t be a surprise.

Theres Value for both. Johnny O has a lot of respect and was a very important part of RC's circle and success.....Shame on the industry for not seeing the value of that Cobra!

Again proving this dude has the heart of a lion!

The 2nd moto today was the best race ive seen in a long time. Roczen and ferrandis battle in the middle of the moto, just wow! Impressive of dylan to get him back and keep kenny behind.
