Levi kitchen needs to move up. I would be surprised and disappointed if he didn’t.

Shimoda and Nichols both need to move up that list at the expense of Mosiman and Ty Masterpool. No disrespect to either, but Nichols when he's been healthy outdoors is a solid top-10 to top-5 guy and Shimoda will be better than last year.

Also, Forkner is way too high at #4 given that he hasn't raced an outdoor since 2018. And that season was not exceptional except for High Point. In fact his best outdoor season was his rookie year way back in 2016.

https://vault.racerxonline.com/rider/austin-forkner/races

Swap Forkner (never hear of her) for Hunter Lawrence.

But yeah, 250 outdoors is deep and the first laps of those early season motos are usually the best and craziest races.

Colt didn't do any outdoors last year, and he is coming off of the championship high so it was just a hard to place him.

The Forkner/lawerence swap is solid but they both seem to end up on the ground same as smith. Is smith lining up outdoors i haven't seen anything yet?

Masterpool he is just a favorite, big fan of the kid and he has crazy speed if he can stay up, Then he is top 10 all day.
But heres the updated.

I like the looks of your list better now. Maybe I'm a bit too high on Nichols but his last outdoor season in 2019 was pretty solid:

https://vault.racerxonline.com/rider/colt-nichols/races

Always hard to weigh speed vs consistency and experience, but in most cases I tend to value the guys who are proven and/or consistent in 250 outdoors.

Nichol's 2019 was solid before he crashed out at buds creek, and what happened with him in 2020 outdoors? i cant remember. He has not finished the last two outdoor seasons but i hope he stays healthy this year!

Here's mine:
1. Justin Cooper
2. Jeremy Martin
3. Jett Lawrence
4. Hunter Lawrence
5. Colt Nichols
6. Austin Forkner
7. Seth Hammaker
8. Cameron Mcadoo
9.Jo Shimoda
10. RJ Hampshire
11. Alex Martin
12. Michael Mosiman
13. Nate Thrasher
14. Ty Masterpool
Don't know enough about the other guys to rank them. If Forkner stays upright, I think he could do better than 6th. But with his inconsistency, it's hard to rank him above the Star Yamaha and Honda boys who I know will definitely be really good. And for the record, I had a hard time making this list and I believe that 9 out of the top 10 guys have a legitimate shot at finishing in the top 5 in the points standings at the end of the year. Heck, Hampshire, A Mart, Mosiman, Thrasher, and Masterpool are the only guys whom I would be surprised if they finished top 5. I don't know anything about Thrasher's outdoor speed though, so I could be totally wrong.

Only change* I'd make to your list is swapping Hampshire and Hunter Lawrence. Hampshire has a win, a bunch more podiums than Lawrence, and if I remember correctly, he was leading the points for a couple of rounds last season.

*My personal bias would be to switch Forkner and Shimoda as well, but Forkner has a history of better results (when he keeps it on 2 wheels).

This will get a lot of justifiable thumbs downs...but I'd go as far as swapping Hunter with Jett.

After his SX showing I've got this feeling that he might have a break out season if he keeps it upright.

Yeah I believe it was on one of their last 2 kickstart podcasts. I can't remember which one but both of them are worth a listen in my opinion. It's just under Swap Moto Live on Spotify is what I use.

A completely different Hunter Lawrence health wise from last year might surprise a few people. Colt Nichols should be way higher that 6. They guy just seems to have his head on really straight, he's healthy and is on a Star bike.

Forkner to me is a huge question mark. But top 10 should be a no brainer. We can work with speed.

I heard the same, but hoping it happens. If any consolation, he's out there practicing with the big dogs so maybe there is still a chance. He's #147.

The real question is, how is Jett higher than Justin Cooper? Jett has 1 podium/win in his outdoor career.
