Spirit car racing is very exciting also. The 1st automobile race in America was in 1878. Wisconsin state legislature in 1875 proposed a viable option to horse and buggy. They proposed a 200 mi race with a 10k purse to the winner. Steam powered engines, the race had 6 entry’s , only 2 raced or finished. The winner from Oshkosh was paid 5 k. Imagine being 1 of the 1st race teams. Building your own steam engine and chasss, which wheels to use, etc. Chicago claims to have the 1st race in 1895.

Gardner rips!! Been going to watch those races since I was about 11, 26 now and Gardner still throws down the hammer whenever I go to watch. The guy can drive for sure

Moto GP. Bought the 4k tv package and enjoy watching all practice and qualifying.

I was at Volusia a handful of years back (east coast guy) and was walking into the track by the credentials for an outlaw race and took a double take at a guy getting his passes. Had to go up because I wasn’t sure, (Damion was back west full time for a while at this point) and tapped the guy on the shoulder. “Sorry this is gonna seem strange, but you’re Damion Gardner right?” He laughed and said yeah, told him I was a big fan and we shot the shit for a couple of mins. Turns out he was in town to help with Rico for the weekend.

Really great answers but I thought more americans would say "I follow the Pro4 truck racing" and more europeans would say "rallycross". It looks such a "natural conversion" for me, u'know? Dirt Bikes... and short course racing with cars.

I used to be big into F1 but they need some serious rule changes. I still watch the races but cut out practice and qualifying. I watch most of the IMSA races. Porsche Cup cars and the GT3 and GT4 classes in that and Pirelli World Challenge. Im not into the Prototype cars.

I do follow truck racing, just didn’t mention it. Another thread I did. McGrath I talked to people that where at his 1st win. He was fired up. Rick Johnson raced trucks for yrs, maybe still does. Deegan and his daughter raced trucks also. 50th anniversary race in crandon had 50k fans, the track is in the middle of no where.

F1, if not for the racing but all the "high school" politics that go on.

Also absolutely love road racing, no sport on earth is as hardcore as that. It is completely and utterly insane.

Had no idea Gardner raced back East back in the day. Even cooler he was helping Rico! Sprint cars are badass. I’d say it’s the best racing minus motocross. Aggressive passing, high HP, no brakes, and bump start gotta love it

I love F1! I've put a preseason $100 on Hamilton for the last five years. Closest thing to a sure bet.

I don't watch the races though.

You would’ve loved El Cajon Speedway back in the day.

Go shred the motocross track after work on Friday, load the van, walk across the parking lot to the car track and proceed to smell gallons of 110 leaded and methanol getting burned for hours.

Good days.

The only place I've found that covers some of the races is the BBC, if you can wangle your ip address and get on to BBC Iplayer you should be able to watch them.

I watched a bagger race few weeks ago. I’d love to watch it again.

American Flat Track - not every race
MotoAmerica - not every race
World of Outlaw Sprint Cars - highlights and some races
F1 - highlights and some races
IMSA/WEC (sportscar and prototype endurance racing) - highlights and some races

Outlaw sprint cars are my favorite 4 wheel racing, especially when they're at the right tracks. Watching those guys go 3 wide at 140 mph completely sideways makes me howl like a monkey. And they just look the way a race car is supposed to look. Lately been getting into sport car racing because my son loves Lamborghinis, McLarens and Corvettes.

Other than that, I can drink beer and watch flat track racing almost as much as moto. I guess I have a thing for getting sideways. it's just cooler than regular turns.

I also have an appreciation for V8 supercars, TT racing, and speedway racing, but it's hard to keep up with them here in the US.

Yeah been watching this also. Can't tell how I feel about it yet. Seems like every race they get close to a normal race bike and further from an actual bagger. But I think it's cool that Motoamerica thinks outside the box and tries new things.

That's Road Racing aka TT racing aka Big Giant Nuts in a Wheelbarrow racing. I may be wrong, but I don't think it's a sanctioned series. I think it's just a collection of individual TT's.

How much did you win, $101?

I don't hate on Lewis, but if there's one thing that keeps me from enjoying F1 more, it's the lack of parity. You've got one team and one guy that win almost everything. Really takes the legitimacy out of the series, especially when a fill in driver gets the same result.

Legitimacy of the series? F1 is a team sport. I have a lot of problems with the technical regulations, but the sport IS the technical regulations, not juts the sporting ones.

iirc there's an Irish Road Racing Championship which is about 11 rounds. The Isle of Man TT isn't part of the championship.

it should also be noted the road racing in Ireland is actually racing, not time trial like the Isle of Man TT.

This is the Ulster Grand Prix. It trades the fastest lap speed with the TT every other year. Super quick and not TT either Smile

If you place a pre-season championship bet he's usually around $2. So double your money. Cool Soon as the first round finishes he's down to $1.10 or so.
