The what? There's only one SX championship that matters: 450. The rest is just part of the show.

I just hope Kenny rides the outdoors. We as fans are better off with Kenny racing. Looking forward to seeing Sexton in the outdoors this year too.

If Honda is smart they will keep the Lawrence brothers together into the 450 class. They are fast, fun to watch and don’t act like robots off the bike.

And - I am not a Honda fan.

I agree racing is better with Ken around, but there is no reason to kill your self if you just can’t do it.

The Lawrence brothers will write their own story. Jett is the darling of the sport right now. He is a silly acting you kid, full of piss and vinegar. He is a real personality for sure. I hope the grind of this sport doesn’t change that. Honda will keep the fastest one and let the slower one go elsewhere when the time comes. It’s a business after all.
100%.
With outdoors coming up, I just don’t have confidence in KR.
Please prove me wrong Kenny!

If he pulls out to “recover” like last year, my guess is Honda is pissed.
Maybe his body is capable of a SX contract only?

Those Crazy Aussie Kids are kickin it, no doubt! Hard not to like those two!

What happened to Sexton? I thought when he passed Roczen and started checking out it was over and did Webb want to get by Roczen ljust to put a stamp on it. Did Sexton bobble somewhere allowing Coop to catch up or was Coop just being Coop? I loved seeing Coop win but didn't see the win coming.

He just looks out of shape. As soon as he hits the red zone he can’t recover. Hard to tell if it’s physical or mental fatigue. Either way it’s hard to watch and no doubt much worse to go through. I was happy to see him ride a bit more aggressive at the beginning of the race. That tells me he can do what needs to be done. Also, that’s what leads me to believe he isn’t on the greatest shape.

I think riding comes easy to Kenny and he relies on the natural ability. That’s why outdoors he can scoot the entire 35+2. Hoping he comes out swimming and clinched the national title

What about races like Atlanta where he's fine till the end ? I think he tightened up and got arm pump . That or an issue with the bike could explain a fall off the cliff like that . Also the top 10 were all putting in similar lap times on this track .

My problem lies with when you state the facts and give kudos to a great race in general but it obviously doesn’t align with a mods agenda. If you saw my original post you would see that nothing was out of line. It’s becoming normal now to censor anything that doesn’t align with personal opinion. If you watched the race then then you possibly could agree on 2 fronts? What’s wrong with bench racing and being fans of the sport? Nothing was disrespectful or stated incorrectly.

Edit: I took down a different thread because it was from a troll. He started another one which I left up and it was no longer there when I woke up.

To me, last night was the prime example of Aldons Program being superior to the Honda Crew.
Chase was the fastest I believe, but ran down by the Orange crew at the end.
Ken was done 1/2 through. Mental and physical issues there, was a shitty way to wrap up an otherwise good Season.
I really REALLY want to see Ken kick ass this Summer, but darn... the confidence is going south.

Full props to Cooper though, Mofo wins when a 19th does the job. I’m not a fan of his, but that was badass!

Sexton ran out of gas. He said it on the podium interview and it was obvious watching the race. Watch the way he was hitting the whoops first half vs last half of the race. His lap times dropped off by 2-4 seconds the 8 or so minutes. Not surprising that a rookie, who has also missed time due to injury, doesn’t make it the full 20+1.

The race was at elevation. When you hit the red zone that high up in altitude it’s much more difficult to recover.

I thought Kroc was gonna finally get his SX championship after the strong start to the season and wins and then its like he just got cautious and then of course Webb smells blood in the water and starts his late race charges and passes Kroc several times and takes the points lead and runs with it. Hope Sexton figures it out to give Honda a shot.

Honda have to be pissed!

All those millions they paid him, all the injuries, all the waiting around and ultimately sacrificing outdoors last year, totalled up to 2nd.

Honda now shift focus on to Chase and the next rider to replace Ken after he rides out his last season in 2022..

Could Hunter be a 2023 seat warmer for Jett maybe?
Hunter will move up in 2023.

Not enough experience yet but he is tough and resolute and learning fast.

True, but everyone raced at the same altitude last night, so it’s a bit of a wash.
Coop and Kenny both live at Sea Level basically. Eli in the hills.
Eli should have had the advantage, but the SLC results this year didn’t reflect that like last year.

Altitude advantage is pretty massive. When I was younger I trained at medium altitude and ran 2 miles at around 12 min. Going to sea level I was sub 10 min.

Going to high altitude was disastrous.

Altitude is not a factor when EVERY human has to adapt. It’s not like when we raced mammoth at 7000 ft plus with a carb and had to adjust jetting. Let’s be real, 4000 ft is not altitude. These are athletes at the highest level. You either have it or you don’t. It’s more mental. What we witnessed was a RED ANCHOR.

Would you expect it NOT to win in its first year??

It’s not like manufacturers bring out new bikes with the expectation of not winning on it. If it wasn’t better than last years they may well have just ridden last years bike. Maybe they did and we’ll never know about it. (think McGrath mid 90s)

it ain’t about the bike.

You could say that but it’s equal to all right? Don’t say that Kenny went from 1st to 10th because of altitude but every other racer had to deal with the same but was more prepared. 4000 ft Is not an issue for altitude for a professional athlete. If it is, then they need to adjust their living altitude to prepare for a championship that tells you that you will be at a small altitude like the grapevine in hungry valley.

I think Anderson would disagree with this take.... funny I don’t remember a ORANGE ANCHOR thread last year when Webb rolled around in 8th place looking very deflated in the final SLC round last year even being beaten by our very own Kroc. Full props to cooper he owned the season this year but this thread is ridiculous

Anderson has issues with altitude that no one else has. Weird. What was Webb’s record in Utah’s races last year to suggest a orange anchor thread? Didn’t he win 3 of the 7 races at altitude. I believe the red anchor also had a win at altitude. Did cooper Webb start in first and end up in 8 th like you suggest last year in the finale? Maybe that’s why😂

To me it seemed from the start that Kenny was not as smooth as usual.
Shortly after Webb bumped him out of the way, Kenny started missing jumps. I don't know if it was the bike or him.
After that he backed off. Probably the smart move.
Kenny's a racer. Championship within reach or not within reach, he fights.
I doubt that he dropped of the pace like that without reason.
I'm going to give him the benefit of the doubt.

I don't have the metrics, but since this thread is about "earning your salary" I think Ken would sell more riding around in 5th than the rest of the top 10 combined.

So your a doctor? It’s just pure coincidence Anderson struggles at tracks at altitude and no where else? You started your thread after the final race commenting on Ken’s 10th I’m merely pointing out the fact your boy gave up in his final race of the season last yea too getting an 8th without a crash after battling for all those wins you brought up... it happens

So no comment on anyone's SX performance, that's over my head and only they know if they really left anything out there...

Just wondering if there's any confirmation Kenny is actually racing outdoors?

I'd expect he is, right? But I've got a weird feeling like until he says he is, you can't count on it.

Ken was employed as an indoor AND outdoor rider. (We know that because there was never any mention of an indoor only contract)

Last season, with COVID uncertainty it was the perfect opportunity for Ken to make his bosses a promise- “give me a summers rest and I’ll win SX ‘21!”

They tried it, they got close.
Will Honda go for “give me a summers rest and I’ll win SX ‘22! ???
