A long time ago, Everts said to me that his riding style was inspired by David Bailey.

Be one with self, your second self is a mirror of who you can be. The third self is a scared shadow bumbling down the track avoiding the inevitable, you are going to die wearing knee braces, this the person you want to be? Sell them now, buy ryno power.

Drinking game: Watch the Ryno GT episode and drink (or toke) each time Ryno says “ya know what I mean.” Anyone that makes past 10 min. is a Boss.

I haven't finished the whole thing, I can only listen to just so much a day......

He definitely sounds like the way most cult leaders think. He has the only true answers, he's born naturally gifted in a way that mere mortals aren't, and no one can truly understand things but him.

His thoughts on rider technique may have good merit (for some riders, we're obviously not all the same!) but his dogmatic approach of him having the only true answers about life are pretty crazy shiznit....!

I agree. He puts himself up on this giant pedestal based on what? His own opinion of himself? In a few of the Gypsy Tales clips, he basically talks in circles without saying anything. He is like that 19 year old kid at a party who just discovered weed and thinks he is a big brain...

Ryno is moto royalty and i really enjoyed this episode. Ryno does come across as the guy that has all the answers while the rest of us are just sheep. He would get his balls busted constantly around my group of family and friends due to being a know it all.

This type of approach can be quite successful in the coaching business if you want actually make a living.

I worked in the coaching game in car racing, and was paralyzed by my own analysis and 'doubt'. A lot of customers want hard simple answer answers, rather than long-winded discussions about brain mechanisms and the fact that we really know almost nothing about how drivers (or riders) do what they do. There were guys working with F1 drivers who I fundamentally thought weren't good and would say things that to me made no sense. However, what people say and how they make someone feel are two different things.

So, while some do tread that line between extreme self confidence and scientific doubt to actually be 100% authentic, it's extremely hard to do from a business perspective.

I know your expanding it to encompass his stuff he says about life in general, but yeah in this game these kind of characters get the business. Being any other way, it makes your life difficult.

Spot on with the cult talk and god complex. I think thats normally a sign of schizophrenia.

He comes across as someone who is taking psychedelics and losing his grip with reality a bit, his riding talk is fine but its all his other weird ramblings that are the worrying thing.

The man speaks a lot of wisdom, especially about the art of riding dirt bikes. The MX world is much better with him than without him. I'm a fan- you don't have to go along with everything he says in order to appreciate him.

Alphas are not narcissist’s like he is. They don’t need a bunch of attention. They don’t need false validation from others. I’m starting to think Ryno didn’t get enough love and nurturing as a child.

But if you do not go along with him, watch out....because he is the almighty know-it-all. See how that works. Being able to admit you are wrong from time to time is key.

People who say he’s losing his mind are sleep walking through life in my opinion.
If you’ve done any internal work you would see he is actually very ‘woke’ this doesn’t mean everything he says is gospel but everything he says is his own 100% truth and ryno being ryno has the confidence to really back himself. He can also see through peoples bullshit, 99% of people speak and act from a place of past trauma and what they think people/society want or expect them to do or say.

Obviously anything riding related I think should be listened to, anything else you’ve got to do your own research on.

One thing is, I’m sure ryno is very happy in his own life the way he is living it right now.

I have a slight grievance with your use of "his truth". The definition of truth is "that which is true or in accordance with fact or reality." So there is only one truth or reality and i'm not sure Ryno's reality lines up with anyone else at this point. :D

I'll precursor this with the fact i like Ryno, i like that he's polarising and i think he provides a lot of good technique advice.
but, and there is a but, he seems to nose dive through a sentence from legit advice to pseudoscience and ends at quackery. That makes it very hard to be all in with him.
As an example, and i'm paraphrasing, during the GT podcast he says about riding on your toes and flowing (legit advice) he transitions to "running with your glove shoes to help develop your feet and how trail running is the best thing ever as it forces you to go into a flow state (no evidence provided and anecdotal at best) and his pièce de résistance is to watch the sunset for the red light state and make sure you're barefoot so you're "grounded". He even used the term "bio-hack".

If you don't mind sifting through and cherry picking the useful factoids then he's great but you will have to stand there and deflect some of his particular brand of BS. However, i'm all for the eccentric characters in our sport.

There it is.

People who disagree on one man's opinion and then disregard everything else he has to say are sleeping or are insecure about themselves because something they believed in all their life has been challenged.

I personally love listening people like him, he is confident and as you said backs himself in what he's saying, doesn't mean I have to agree with everything but I can definitely can take some knowledge from it.

Same people who shit on ryno are the ones who complain there's no characters in motocross or the world for that matter and guess what you're the part of the reason you made it this way.

i literally defined it...... Emphasis on the 'fact' part of the definition.
it was intended as abit of a tongue in cheek nudge but you clearly want to make this part of the discussion so i'm game. after all there is no right and wrong when it comes to opinions.

but i will bite the bait and I will add that i believe people can have different perceptions of the same truth but ultimately there is a universal truth not an individual one.
Would you have an issue if i said "the earth doesn't exist we're living suspended in cottage cheese, that's my fact"?
Fact is a universal, as should truth be. without it our legal systems aren't worth a wank.

He said, "RC could feel pebbles with his front tire." Simply because some so-called experts or myself haven't determined that to be possible, should we deflect RC's brand of BS? Who am I to say that is untrue?

Not everyone needs someone else to confirm what they can feel for themselves. When one has spent time developing a mind-body connection, it becomes easier to trust one's own reality. And we all have our own version of reality.

It's no bait and I respect your answer very logical.

A lot of "truths" or "facts" are from a "official" source and people blindly believe it without researching or testing or seeing it for themselves as ryno said 'that's borrowed knowledge', I really like that term.

People like Ryno Are the way they are because they have seen or witnessed something that is different from official facts, once that has happened they stop taking everything being sold or told to them for face value in otherwords intelligence/wisdom.

My moment was when I was 16 feeling like shit health wise I went to a doctor to see what's up, he did his thing took blood test told me to come back when results are, I came back and sat infront of a man who was 20 years or so older than me and 10 years of education and he tells me I'm in great health, i thought well no I am not I feel fucking terrible.

I did some research and came to a to a conclusion on what my body needs and what lifestyle changes I need to make to fix myself, i backed myself got what I thought I needed done and made a full recovery, I told the doctor and he said I'm full of shit, I haven't seen a doctor since.

Thanks for the chat.

But all those things work for him so that’s his truth. I’m sure running trails in his vibrams puts HIM in a flow state.
How different is standing in front of sunrise to the red light therapy all top athletes are doing? Maybe less powerful, but free and as nature intended...

I’m not a ryno dick rider but the guy isn’t losing his mind, he see’s the world differently since his awakening, and is happier, better human being for it.

Rode with many riders who stand almost all the time. Have their toes pointed towards the engraved cases. And grip the frame nonstop with their knees. Doesn’t work for everyone. See lot those guys crash constantly. Go back and watch some the later 80s and early 90s MX nationals and see how many of the top pros were on the bike. It’s interesting.
One of the reasons why Ryno is so combative is that it's the "Law" of physics, not the "works for some guys" of physics.

Riding the bike properly works for everyone.

Bingo. But it takes a lot of time to change technique so if you try to ride your normal pace while changing technique you might crash. You’ve got to slow way down to change technique then the speed comes back when you’ve gotten used to the feeling.

it was intended as abit of a tongue in cheek nudge but you clearly want to make this part of the discussion so i'm game. after all there is no right and wrong when it comes to opinions.

but i will bite the bait and I will add that i believe people can have different perceptions of the same truth but ultimately there is a universal truth not an individual one.
Would you have an issue if i said "the earth doesn't exist we're living suspended in cottage cheese, that's my fact"?
Fact is a universal, as should truth be. without it our legal systems aren't worth a wank.

It's no bait and I respect your answer very logical. A lot of "truths" or "facts" are from a "official" source and people blindly believe it...

Happy you feel better.
