No, not even close. Ricky could do it all. Blitz, charge, mental games, starts. You name it. Webb has many cracks. Ricky really didn’t.

Exactly! He had quite a few opportunities to stuff Marv like a Turkey on Thanksgiving but Webb is a lot smarter racer than that.

The downside if it didn't go right was a LOT MORE TO LOSE than gain a couple extra points.

Have you seen dungeys win totals indoors and out? He is way up there all time. He is an all time legend, Webb is getting his second title against a bunch of riders who can’t ever put a season together with remotely consistent finishes.

And he’s never been in the conversation outdoors for a title in the 450 class.

I compare Marv to say Ezra Lusk. Did Ezra Lusk ever hold off RC for multiple laps to win a main? Or heck, did RC ever let Ivan Tedesco or Ernesto Fonseca beat him for a win?

It's all fun bench racing. I do think Webb has that killer mentality like RC and Villopoto. I also think Webb will end his career with more 450SX wins than Tomac.

I read on Vital that Webb is the 3rd fastest and least talented of the top 3 riders this year. So doubt he could beat RCSmile But hey, he may be a better announcer, lol....all sarcasm.

I'd compare Webb to a more aggressive Dungey who isn't as good outdoors. This isn't going to be his last SX championship, but he's never been a serious factor outdoors on a 450 yet.

While I generally agree with that, I would also say that if it were Roczen leading instead of Musquin, Webb may have been a little less ‘risk averse’ and tried to force his way past. There were several corners where he was close enough to force contact, and probably would have if Roczen were ahead of him, but the chances of going to the ground with his teammate and letting Roczen potentially get back in it made the risk too high.

If Musquin had been just a touch slower, he would have taken advantage of that for sure.
