Forums like Whirlpool.net.au adopt a transparent moderating system, where users can see where deleted threads were (with a reason why they were deleted) or removed posts that users have herringed (flagged) for moderators to look at.

Thread naming etiquette is adhered to, and threads that already have an existing topic are removed/ combined (again, it’s easy to see because of transparent moderating)

Makes for a much cleaner, easier, friendlier forum.

On desktop:
Hate how the member avatar & stats enlarge when your cursor travels over them..covers up the posts as you scroll.

Overall:
Display thumbs-down voters

Enough of GuyB banning members for posts he dosent agree with.

For sale forum needs broken into segments. Bike, parts, gear

Ask Ping needs to be text. Not video. Some of us read the site when we should be working. Can't watch a vid.Blush

Here's some examples of things that get deleted. It needs no explanation as to why it gets taken down.

Is seeing that really important? I personally don't think so.

Probably been said, but how about a page refresh link at the bottom of the page?

My only gripe too. The search function is bad

It actually works really will, you don’t “see the post” you just see “post removed - reason: offensive language” or “reason: off topic). It works really well and in the end people eventually don’t even attempt to post offensive or foul posts because they know it doesn’t last long because they can see moderation at work.

It’s one of the largest, most broad forums in the country that’s friendly, useful and full of great discussions because they use one of the best moderating systems I’ve seen in forums.

Just my 2c, obviously by the look of those screenshots, the current system of posts just disappearing isn’t working for accountability and transparency...

Just curious, how long ago did you have the procedure done?

I'm the opposite, ever since I had it done in 2015, I hate dark backgrounds.

Absolutely need some rules for the bazaar and a way to rate sellers/buyers. If you don’t put a price or pictures it should be auto-deleted like...

If you don’t put a price or pictures it should be auto-deleted like on literally every other forum on the internet
Or, not stating the year the item fits.
HRC triple clamps for sale $$$$$
HRC forks for sale. Well, what freaking year do they fit?!?!
I can’t tell the diameter by a damn picture.

I am on a few non moto forums as well. This one works fairly well. I like the thumbs up/down, but like others said before make them both visible or invisible. Other sights do offer different levels of participation if you donate. One of them you have to become a sponsoring member for $20 to be able to sell items on the site, which is a large part of that community. Lots of stuff gets bought sold and traded.

Some of the threads need to be merged more often, they are basically the same topic, just merge them into one to save space and time.

Forums are places to talk, learn, complain, cheer, and help others. Oh yeah, make fun of others too. The level of butt hurt on here is pretty low overall though. Good site, glad it here. Thank you

March 2017, definitely more sensitive to bright lights now. Thumpertalk and adventure rider both work with the dark mode set. Probably a different browser or extension I could install to force vital to go dark, but I'm not big on installing apps that I don't have to have.

Snooze option for users. Thumbs up, thumbs down and snooze option. (User-driven not mod driven) hit snooze and don’t see what they post for 3 days / 5 days or 7 days.

The procedure I had done is actually called intralase SBK. I haven't kept up with laser correction procedures, but it was the newest and best option at the time.

I'm a little more sensitive to light, but i have ghosting around the letters when it's white lettering on a black background. Same thing with car lights at night.

Other than that, I can't complain. My vision is better than perfect at 25/20.

Steve puts up a thread asking for input (by nature a subjective opinion) Picture below shows why I dislike the thumbs up or down; some individuals in 2021 are incapable of ignoring anything they don't agree with. There is nothing offensive about my posting my subjective opinion in response to GuyB asking for our input.

IMHO The thumps up/down has turned into micro pissing matches (In almost every single thread of Motodrive) between weak minded beta's on this forum who are incapable of tolerance.

Post Edit: Instagram and Facebook only let you like a post or picture. The other option is to unfriend or block. Maybe allowing users to block each other would be a better solution to for the Beta swordfighters

Serious question. Why do down votes or up votes matter to anyone? Why would anyone possibly care?

I use the thumbs up when I like a post...then I don't have to post (waste of bandwidth) a positive response. I've never used the thumbs down.... If I disagree or hate a post that much, it'll be words in response...not a weak-sauce thumbs down.
