To me, this is where Star, Honda and everyone else fucked up getting all up in arms over the current ruling. You’re complaining because you think it’s unfair he got to restart, however it can not be unfair because everyone has that same rule in their favor right now. If Pro Circuit Kawi riders or riders who’s names start with the letter C only had that eligibility then yes, that’s unfair. Now that everyone has an issue with it and it’ll likely bring an amendment to the rule, guess what. Your rider will no longer have the ability to restart in these same circumstances going forward.

Rules rules rules, we need more rules! Why, why would you want to limit your opportunities? And don’t give me “rider safety” as the reasoning behind the protests, Star and Honda couldn’t give 2 fucks about a championship opponents well being at this particular time. They’re just looking for that points advantage.

Star racing is the least likable team in the pits and its not close. Kinda hope AP leaves just for that reason.

It's a shame to see some of these younger riders who come across as weak minded. I come from a different era where you would STFU & get it done. NO EXCUSES...
This Mcadoo kid seems like he is a throw back & hope he gets it done with a title when it's all said & done..

There's stories of riders not being happy with how Star is run. Darryn Durham had a really good interview about his displeasures while riding for Star.

Very true. However, I am appreciative of the refreshing honesty that comes out of this sport. Its beyond annoying to hear NBA, MLB & NFL players all giving the expected and pre-rehearsed response to questions. For these guys to say how they truly feel is awesome.

Ya right it's not, golf games aren't called off if a player is injured and then started again from scratch when they feel better..
You're right there too he was slammed and SLAMMED again which is why he was sitting there for a lap wondering what the fuck just happened and wondering why he wasn't injured instead of jumping to his feet and getting back in the race.

In MX and SX you are self penalised by your mistakes.. If you make a mistake and crash so heavily that you need to take a couple of minutes to find the bearings you just rattled out of your skull and all your competitors that didn't make a mistake complete a lap while you're doing that, then the race is forced to be restarted because you're too injured to walk off unassisted. You shouldn't then be allowed to line back up with your competitors once you found said bearings.. Even if the crash was an all time highlight reel crash and even if he showed great grit and bravery for even wanting to race again

If he was anywhere else on the track he would've DNF'd or been multiple laps down

Wouldn’t all of us be mad if any of us where racing and we lap a rider on the ground, and then all of sudden he’s in front of us . And don’t hate the star team that’s the team everyone wants to be on because there bikes are the best!

The red flagged kid gets into your kid on the restart and takes them both down. Your kids throttle housing gets broken and can't continue the race. The other kids finishes top ten and wins the title. No doubt most of us would be losing our minds, but in this situation Cooper and thrasher are whiners. Should just shut up and beat him. Give me a freaking break.

In all honesty, no I wouldn’t. I’d just be happy to see the guy standing up on two feet, or even just being able to move his limbs after a crash like that let alone getting back on the bike. If a dude can crash like that and still straight up beat me, not only is he just better, but I would definitely realize how much much better I need to be.

Then again, I’m a lot different than most. If I saw a dude stuck under his bike mid race and no one was close by, I’d stop and help him.

Of course.....But the rules were based on laps when the main was laps. Now the main is time not laps. Regardless I just watched the racer interview and JC said he was happy to see that Cam was ok and lined back up.

Not disagreeing with you. That's just another rule to have the AMA examine in the off season. Glad to hear JC say good things about McAdoo. I know he didn't fault him for the circumstances.

It is a dumb rule. If you cause the red flag you shouldn’t be able to restart.

If he has a big crash but goes off the side of the track, he finishes last.

If he has a significant crash but is okay, he remounts in last and has to work his way forward.

If he has a minor crash and picks it right back up, he loses 5-10 seconds and a ton of track position.

If he has the exact same crash he had and only lays there for one lap and then shakes it off and remounts, he finishes last.

But since he lays there for a lap and a half now he gets to restart? Stupid rule and needs to be changed ASAP.

Lawrence and McAdoo both went down in the first race. Both riders re grouped and put amazing rides in.

Ive never seen a team of riders have soooo many complaints and protest then the star Yamaha team has in the past 5 years.. When ever there is drama in that 250 class, Star Yamaha are always involved.

I watched his interview a couple of times. He simply said he didn't want to comment on it and we're making a lot of assumptions as to what that meant. If JC disagrees with the rule, I'm cool with that. They're all entitled to their opinion of the rule.

If he thought Cam shouldn't have been allowed to line up after that regardless of what the rule states, that's not a good belief.

Regardless, I don't think any of these guys really want their competition out of the game on a basis of bad circumstances. I don't even think Roczen would want Webb to get disastrously injured or vice versa. They may desire a DNF for one reason or another, but I don't think anyone wants to see a fellow competitor severely injured. . . well maybe Marchbanks wanted McAdoo severely injured, but that's the topic of another post.
