Barcia did what every racer is supposed to do last night. He raced hard, clean, and for every position. Webb is the king of inside lines. Barcia is smart enough to know exactly what Webb was going to do. He beat him at his own game.

Webb fans would be cheering with foam fingers if the rolls were reversed. “Webb is the master tactician!” “Smartest racer on the track!” Fickle fans around here

There's a huge difference between a blatant cross-jump vs. slowly pinching the line off down a long rhythm.

Barcia was methodically inching over on each jump to take away Webb's pass attempt. Webb was far enough behind that he saw that happening and was able to react to avoid a collision. In my opinion, it was a smart move on Barcia's part, there was no contact or ensuing wreck.

Next Web fans will be blaming the track designers for putting whoops on every track. Great ride for Barcia.

Is he really brake checking? He’s got a stop and go style of cornering. Main reason he’s a tick off other top riders, lacks that roll speed.

Fan of both Barcia and Webb.

Saw nothing wrong with Barcias tactics.

It's racing....if you've raced, you'd understand.

Hey, you scratched my fender!

THIS

and slowly pinching the line while jumping triple at this speed in deep rut is insanely skilled and ballsy !!!
That was huge craftsmanship and race intelligence.

Webb will have to watch some Anderson footage on how to pass Barcia. Barcia has been riding wide his entire career. Nothing new in that respect.

Good racing.

The wall jump thing wasn't that bad but it's not cool either... Anderson did the same to Eli.

I could do without the fading in the rhythm section though, that's not on.

Eh riders fade in almost every rhythm cause you are usually trying to go from outside on the previous corner to inside on the next or vice versa, it’s not slot car racing.

He did it in the heats too, he was f**king with Coop all night. When the championship is not on the line I bet Coop makes him pay. Barcia may have just cost himself a contract?

It's one thing to ride wide, but to constantly try to take out the championship leader's front wheel when you are just being a roadblock is taking it too far and is far from being a gentleman. That tiger is never gonna change his stripes.
Coop is damn lucky Barcia didn't put him down for good. He'd do well to stay away from him. At this stage of the game...Barcia is looking for points and a way to play his hand into a contract extension. If you think he cares whether Webb is the championship leader...and won't clip him, you're crazy.

Wait? Are you saying this is a competition where every rider is racing for as many points as possible? Next thing you know, you’ll try got tell us that the different positions pay different amounts!

i thought he was using good race craft with his blocking. He was doing amazingly well at covering the pass lines.

That was just a mistake by Webb.
Zero controversy.

So, a friend of mine who later turned pro, but at the time was racing 125 Intermediate at a high level once told me, "You go deep in a rut, then slam on the brakes and wait. When you feel your rear wheel get bumped three times, you know it's time to get back on the gas." He was referring to the next three riders slamming into each other's rear wheels like a great, big brake-check freight train. If you think the 450 pros are any less cutthroat than 125 Intermediates in SoCal, then you are sorely mistaken.
Barcia can brake check all he wants, all day, all night. It is the leader's prerogative to ride what line and at what speed he sees fit.

I could do without the fading in the rhythm section though, that's not on.
I wish I could have seen a replay of that pass on Eli, In real-time it almost looked to me like they were side by side going up the wall and Anderson came over into Eli bumping him over and off to the side. Anderson wasn't playing games after the Aray incident haha

No way. Barcia's salary is probably less than what Webbs bonuses would be 😂 Cheaper to keep him!

BamBam will never disappoint...I was hoping for a battle with JA but JA was just too fast last night.

Cooper will eventually get payback, can't wait to watch what happens next.

Note the size of the rut that was on that wall jump.

The track was very one lined right there.

Webb should have seen it coming a mile away, especially with his expert racecraft.

These wall jumps are turning out to be a pretty entertaining obstacle.

GasGas would never have gotten the kind of instant publicity with anybody else that they got with Barcia winning the season opener! Like him or hate him, he's a helluva racer and he's good for a podium at pretty much any race.

I feel like one week everyone loves Barcia, and then another they all hate him.

If I am in front of you in a race, I am controlling the line. Period. If Webb doesn’t realize how Barcia races he is an idiot.
