Half time show “flip”

Edited Date/Time 4/15/2021 10:39am
Nbc gets a gold star for trying but man. Thag flip was lame. And it’s happened many times already. Big foot hucking a plane in the 90s killed that weak stunt for me. I can see a future of maybe a half time show like Seth in the day jumping distance or a huge transfer from kdub

I love sx and hate being negative but they built it up so much. Dude shoulda hit it hard and destroyed the truck. If not for pride do it for the views and possibility of new fans.

Yeah doing a lamer “sport” in the half time for people that already do a pretty tough sport is just stupid. We all sat there thinking we’d hit that harder than that driver did.

It's monster trucks. How good could it be? My kids liked monster trucks when they were 5 years old. We took them a few times to shows. Lame 30 years ago, lame now

So embarrassing. Why, just why do they think that making the sport look more dirtbag is a good way to go? Rutlege Wood needs to leave and never come back. He is a total brain drain on the broadcast, you become dumber as you watch anything he does. Who do we need to petition to have him removed from anything involving 2 wheels?

The races were pretty good.

I don't know man. I was wondering what those metal blocks the riders put their feet on were. Grinning

The only way that could have worked is if they did a Windham style transfer. We know those things can fly, so make it fucking fly

Even my fiance thought it was pretty lame, said it woulda been much cooler to see some FMX guys out there doing tricks than 1 single lame monster truck backflip we've seen a million times. Dude even screwed this one up.

Ya gotta think that it is killing RC to have to play along with the producers when he 'splains what the hell these mysterious block devices are. But what if I'm wrong?

I went to the race and wasn't very excited about it, but man this 7 year old kid behind me was losing his shit over it. He thought it was the greatest thing in the history of great things.

I think they're trying to get more eyeballs on the sport. I didn't mind it.

It was a Feld commercial for their Monster Truck shows. That’s all.

When monster trucks race, what do the mechanics write on their pitboards for the drivers?

Maybe I’m easily entertained but I like seeing people do something I wouldn’t.

Someone said above that they took their kids to a monster jam. Which I don’t think I have to point this out but.........

A massive amount of viewership is of the age that thinks monster trucks are cool. Billy sees backflip. Turns around and says to dad “I want to go to a monster truck race!!!!”

Remember guys. Just because you’re in the core demographic doesn’t mean you’re the only one being advertised to.

LeDuc is a badass. He’s from an off road racing family that is legendary. I couldn’t care less what they do during downtime between races. Sure Feld is pushing their other shit but to me anything with an engine doing something cool is still cool. Man this bitching gets old. I hate that I’m 38 years old and feel like I’m the “get off my lawn guy” but FFS.
At some point everyone who appreciates any form of motorsport will have to be on the same page, regardless of a sanctioning body promoting something else they invest in.

Despite the tens of millions of spectators which have attended monster truck events over the past 40 years, there have been few accidents which have resulted in injuries or fatalities.

On January 16, 2009, at a Monster Jam event in Tacoma, Washington 6-year-old Sebastian Hizey was killed when struck by flying debris from the truck Natural High.[1]

On January 25, 2009, the monster truck Samson was involved in an accident in Madison, Wisconsin that caused the death of announcer George Eisenhart, Jr. after he accidentally stepped in front of Samson while it was moving.[2]

On October 6, 2013, the monster truck Big Show plowed into a crowd of spectators in Chihuahua City, Mexico, killing 8 people and injuring 79 others in the Chihuahua monster truck accident. This is the deadliest monster truck incident in the history of the sport.

On September 29, 2014, a monster truck plowed into a crowd of spectators in Haaksbergen, Netherlands, killing three people.
