"Do the situation I said and it’ll hesitate or bog. Put your 450 in 3rd, and putt around a corner slowly then go full throttle. It won’t instantly be screaming. That’s how the new Honda is, for a split millisecond at very very low rpm, that unless you are riding SX, you would never be in."

Pro Supercross racers don't putt around corners in third gear...

Begginer to pro are effected by this. I would say it comes down to riding style weather you notice it or not.

That’s my point. I said the only time i noticed the bog was on my sight lap. When i was cruising around in very low rpm’s and would get on it for a second.

At speed, there was no bog for me

Reread all my posts and you may understand my point.

My point about Supercross racers is that they go inside in second gear basically rolling to wide-open hitting a Supercross Triple. That is the only situation, at race speed, i can see the bog being a slight issue. This bog is nothing compared to a carb bog.

Obviously I don't need to re-read anything because I already articulated it. Clearly it has nothing to do with racing Supercross as you suggested.

Congrats on the new Honda!

Though I'm not in the market for a new bike, i'm glad to see Honda get away from dual mufflers. I was never on the bandwagon for that kinda setup.

Yeah because everyone loves when a bike cuts out on the face of a jump, right? Know how I know this? Because it happened to me 3 times and my buddy more. There’s a big difference between Someone claiming to feel a minute change in something and a literal bike cut out. You’re right though, I probably should tell my buddy that’s not got decades of riding under his belt that everything is fine just go pin it.

Hey Renner, I don’t doubt what’s going on with your buddies bike, i believe you 100 percent, and I think most of us do, maybe not all, but I speak for myself when I say, I think it might not be every bike that Honda produced. I mean I’ll be the first one to post about a problem, once I get on the bike, but don’t be mad at me for being optimistic after spending 14k on a dirt bike that could potentially have an ecu problem. Fingers are crossed that it just might be a certain amount that could be affected. Please let us know if you figure out the issue, thanks dude, Merry Christmas folks.

I have 4 other buddies that have the R with no issues. I was talking to one yesterday and he said that Honda told him the first batch of bikes had that issue, but not all of them. I hope no one else’s bikes have this issue. He looked at it yesterday and thinks he may have found an issue. Just gonna wait until Monday when the shop opens back up to see what’s up and may call up twisted as well.
So this is a R problem not a WE problem....if so this is in the wrong thread. If he has 'looked at it' (not sure who 'he' is) what is the issue he thinks it might be? (aside from the known minor hesitation when lugging at low RPM)

It also depends what Map you are in, 2 of the 3 stock maps do not have the issue, but you would know this since you have ridden it.....for those bikes that do have the issue, not all of them do. And this is the R model not the WE right, or have you ridden the WE LK?

Seems pretty cut and clear there is a problem with map 2.

No, he has the WE. I have buddies with the R that never said anything. He’s pulled it apart today (he’s a diesel mechanic so he knows sensors and fuel pressure etc). I forget what he thinks it might be. But he’s getting with the Honda shop Monday to try and get it resolved

Ok, I'm about to pull the trigger on a Works Edition CRF450r tomorrow then take it to SoCal for the month of January. Mainly going works edition because I can't get a regular version. $12k OTD. What do you guys think? Or just go buy another kawi? Also, did we get a confirmation on whether the bog is present on the Works model?

He mentioned he was leaving it in 3rd everywhere, while he was doing very slow laps right as it sputtered. He was going from almost stalling to mashing the throttle in 3rd gear. This is exactly what I said will trigger the issue. And the only time I felt an issue. Sight lap.

When he started going race pace (whenever he put the litpro stuff up), it didn’t happen.

Yes I said 1 of the 3 maps (I can’t recall which one, I did think it was #1) But, not all of the bikes have the problem only first shipment including media bikes ... surprise surprise

It’s not worth convincing people man lol I’ve tried.

If one media company gets a lemon and they say the bike has this issue or that issue, but they have the only bike with that issue, 99.999% of Vital will be talking about how bad the bike is due to that issue. Even though only 1 had it 😂

The fact there is controversy over the new Honda’s overall performance along with an outrageous price tag would be enough to steer a sane minded person in a different direction.

If map 1 and 2 have issues it's not 1 map. Testers indicated all 3 maps with #1 being the worst. You just never give up being wrong, do you? That kool-aid is some powerful shit.

You are wrong not kiwi lol I literally rode one. And testers say it only happens in certain maps at very low rpm

Don’t own a Honda, no interest in one. I ride TM’s. I also have 0 interest in 4 strokes.

I just hate when people who have never ridden the bike act like they know what they are talking about.

People act like this bike slept with their wife

The fact that I still ride and race at 48 after multiple broken bones and major injuries over the years pretty much says where I am in the sanity department LOL. The Honda it is!!!!

There’s a reason Tim Gasjer won everything in the GPs on one of these.

Seems that Europe has different ecu, because I haven’t felt any bog (I have ridden three diffrent 2021 CRF450R’s) and nor I have heard any complaints on this.

Probably similar to GP guys vs AMA guys. One will say they got smoked the other will say they went wrong way with bike setup

Lol...

Nope . I actually have a newer stabilizer that I kept from my 18 450 and I don’t think I’ll be able to use it . The frame actually has a weird wire mount that protrudes and will be in the way of a stabilizer.
