Hey everyone, thinking of getting some new boots and was looking at some Sidi Crossfire 3’s. If anyone have some opinions on them let me know. For perspective, I currently wear Fox Instincts.

Check out dirt bike channel he gives great reviews on all boots.
Mxlocker and elite boot have good deals on them too.
I have sidi crossfire 3 SRS and have no complaints. Fits good, no break in stiffness, good support, buckle and unbuckle good, have extra Velcro strap inside to really close them off. And I like the slim toe box shape, feels more like a shoe than a boot at shifter and brake.

Solid boot. I’ve worn Gaerne Sg12 for 4/5 years and then bought the sidi crossfire 3. Slightly thinner, less bulkier feel than the gaernes but I still feel adequately protected from impacts. I like the fact you can replace soles easily on the Sidi, but the sole does feel more like a harder plastic-y as opposed to the gaerne which is more rubbery. Which took some time to get used to because my feet would slide around on the pegs. Now that they’re broken in they’re not so bad. I definitely prefer the buckles on the gaerne for ease of adjustment. Everytime I put on the Sidi’s I have to adjust a couple buckles to get them tight which takes some time to do. My sidi’s have a white gaiter at the top which stained really quick, next time I’d get one with a black gaiter.

I feel about Sidi’s like Team Green feels about Oakley Airbrakes.

Never tried a Crossfire 3, but I bought a pair of Crossfires in 2004 and could not even get past the "walk around the living room" test. They actually hurt to wear - too tight across the top of my arches, even with the lower buckle as loose as it would go. If you have high arches, beware. Other than that, they seemed really nice.

I have not worn instincts but I went from tech 7 to cf3 TA. Better pedal feel in the Alpinestars. If you slap your foot on the ground like an emergency dab you feel it a lot more in the Sidi. Toe feels lower so easier to get under shifter. Keep water out better (what doesn’t?) top of toe where you shift turns black in minutes on the red ones. Longer break in, don’t break down as fast but feel harsher on bumps. I broke a strap in the woods and ordered a replacement from Italy because Rocky Mountain didn’t get them in stock for weeks.

I just got a set of the latest tech 10 to try so I will see who wins after a few months. I expect the sidi to wear less but to beat up my feet and ankles more and give less bike feel. I think the sidi will be better for bouncing the top and side of your feet off rocks. The SRS run narrow but the TA are probably wider than Alpinestars.

Get the new sidi atojos, the ankle pivot is beefed up and safer.

they scuff your bike a lot more than other boots.

Too narrow for my foot. Bought a pair online and ended up giving them to my cousin as a gift. If you can, try a pair on before buying to make sure of the fit.

Yeah I forgot to mention that. I don’t know if it is the hard plastic or the screw heads.

Fantastic boots, probably best for guys with slim calves and ankles. This is the first boot that I could get to really respond at the ankle properly and not feel like my foot was immobilized.

Just recently got a pair and rode with them last weekend. Coming from Tech 7's I do like that there is more protection but also better feel on the bike. I have a more narrow foot, so they fit me better than the 7's. I am not bashing the Tech 7's, very comfortable, but I just wanted some more protection and when I tried on the Tech 10 they felt really bulky. They Sidi felt really good right away and no weird hot spots or anything like that. Definitely would recommend if you dont have a wide foot.

I got the Crossfire 3's early this year after having SG12's for two years. There is no question the Sidi's are more comfortable, easier to walk in, shift/brake, and more flexible, but stiff enough. I felt like the SG12's never got broken in and where bulky. I have a narrow foot and the SG's were a little big on me, so that played a factory too.

I wore SIDI crossfire 2 for years and switched to 3 this year. Love them both. Feel great.

I personally think that the Sidi durability is unmatched, particularly when you can resole them with a screwdriver.

Fantastic boot if you fit in them. I also run Instincts as they fit me the best. My foot is too wide and flat to feel good in Crossfires. I would try a pair before ordering them.

I've been wearing the Crossfire 3's for a little over a year. The first couple rides I thought I made a huge mistake. Super stiff out of the box and struggled with shifting and brake feel. I would say they had a longer break in than most boots, but now that they are broken in they are my personal favourite boot that I have owned.

They are a great boot. They do run narrow so would not advise if you have wide feet

Rather than buy new boots I recently replaced my soles and a couple of other pieces on my Sidi SRS boots for around £40. For that reason alone I think they are great. They are also comfortable and offer great protection, what's not to like

I have close to 40 hours on my crossfire 3's and they have held up well and provide good protection and comfort.

I noticed about a 2 hour break in period with mine.

Great boots for narrow feet, hold up much better and more comfy than Tech 10’s in my opinion.

I currently have Tech 7s in size 10 which are about perfect snug size. Looking for new boots as already bruised my heel pretty bad this year and now I have small fracture in my right ankle due to pretty badly cased jump and crashing after that.

Did already test fit SG12s in size 9,5 which did feel roomier in each direction at the toe box. They also did feel very/too bulky and "meh" compared to Tech7s and also did have pressure points both sides of ankle.

Now looking for Sidi CF3 SRSs which are not available locally for testing, so should I go with size 10 or size 11?

If your foot is on the narrower side I'd say the 10 would be fine. I wear 10-10.5 in all my daily shoes but I wear 9.5US/43 in Crossfire 3's. To me, the SIDI Crossfire 3 SRS are the best boots I've ever owned. My lady and I were at the track yesterday and as I was taking my boots off I made a comment about how much I loved my boots. Her reply: "I've never heard you complain about them like you did the Gaerne's."

Get the sidi atojo. Don’t get the crossfires. Much safer boot. Lateral support lacking with the crossfires. 6 months non weight bearing broken/dislocated ankle will attest to that.

I'm mostly looking for good overall impact protection and good hyperextension/-flexion limitation which looks to be good on Crossfire 3s.

Before latest accident I was already looking for better boots as Tech 7s felt more like morning slippers Smile

From videos Atojos look less supportive for extention /flexion than cf3s?

Atojo has a little more room in the toe and forefoot than the crossfire. I wear 11 in cf3 TA, atojo, and tech 7. Atojo give the best bike feel of those three. It is easier to grip the bike. The crossfire does have more hard plastic on the lower leg so it might be a little better for enduro but it is mostly thin plastic so I am not sure how much extra impact protection it has. Protection of the foot the atojo and cf are very similar. Atojo also has the ankle lock out strap that cf lacks. They are a little less expensive too.

Atojo has multiple hyperextension and flexion stops. The ankle hinge has both but it is hidden under the ankle cover. The strap on the tongue definitely limits hyper flexion better than cf3 and adds some extension protection as well. The boot has a stop on the back similar to an sg12.

Tech 7 are definitely soft after they get broken in. Sidi boots don’t do that very much.

Interesting comments here regarding the Atojo. I looked at those closely and tried them on side by side with my Crossfire 3's. I thought hands down the CF3 was the more protective and better built boot. I wanted to like the Atojo better because they are cheaper but I wasn't willing to sacrifice protection to save $50.
