AMA required a photo copy of proof of health insurance when applying for your yearly Pro license if memory serves least 20+ yrs ago and carry the insurance card with you..They also had a bit of rider coverage the rider had to specifically state the injury before days end of the event. Doubt it exists today.

And to caveat on that:

Yes, pro racing is hard and expensive. The insurance can be pricey.

But you know what is more expensive? Paying for an ER visit out of pocket for a crash injury that has a very high likelihood of happening and missing races.

I... I don’t fucking get it. I’ll leave it at that.

When I watch Whiskey Throttle podcasts I honestly don't get irritated by GL. I think most of the time he's trying add to the discussion by showing that he can relate to the guest when he throws in a quick 2 cents. I really don't think it's him trying to take over the show.
