It’s pretty obvious that Tomac is just riding the series out, could it be just training burnout because of this extended year, the sleepless nights of fatherhood, or injury?

Or maybe all three.

So the top dog at Kawasaki is not the one that has delivered 4 premier championships in the last 3 years? I am confused.

He lost interest after two DNF at Lorettas. He is just cruising now.

I’ve really only listened to the Racer X review podcasts but they have talked about it. From what I remember they basically attributed it to the many factors that have been pointed out on this forum. He got the SX title this year, had a kid, the season has drawn out longer and he was already down a whole moto worth of points before round three.

I knew this thread would await me....

Obviously, we don't have the full picture. But Tomac appears to have rolled over for this particular championship, and isn't riding up to his full potential. He probably mentally ceded the championship two weeks ago, if not more.

*Cianciarulo* being the guy to potentially take his #1 probably never occured to Tomac until this afternoon, and hopefully lights a fire under him.

3 outdoor titles in a row, finally climbed to the top of the mountain in SX and won his first series, new baby, crazy year for the race schedule....I don't think anyone is really THAT surprised Tomac is a bit off his game. That being said...he's still a top dog and I'm sure he will be ready and motivated to defend his SX title next year and reclaim the outdoor title. Honestly I would of been more surprised if he dominated this outdoor series after everything I just mentioned.

Same formula as webb last year, win SX and off the pace outdoors. I would think its pretty hard to keep the intensity up for a complete year, major props to those that can.

Don’t think Tomac has anything to prove to anyone at this point. Other than a title bonus and bragging rights there isn’t much on the line worth crashing yourself for. After 4 titles premier class titles and his Kawi and Astars deals I don’t think his wallet is hurting too bad.

Eli got 12 points in the first moto so a 3rd would give him 8 more. Another 3rd in the second moto would give him another 20. He's currently down 39 points so two 3rds would make him 11 down. Two 4ths and he's down 15 points.
