Why on earth would Feld be looking to sell the rights to SX when the last time they ran, there was no spectator revenue. It's like getting out of your contract so you can shop for rides when you didn't qualify at the last 7 rounds. Surely there is a better time to talk to ... Roger.

Hopefully, MX Sports is getting rid of the ridiculously outdated double-displacement rule. These will go down as the dark ages of Professional MX. That ridiculous rule inadvertently killed the BEST PLATFORM EVER, the 250cc two-stroke.

They made it sound like it had been for sale for quite a while, like this wasn't a new development.

You may be onto something too as they were saying the fans would be happier.

Not sure if it is the right path too, a mix of both was pretty cool I think.

Just a thought.....the streaming network market is getting more and more important & competitive everyday.

AT&T is actively trying to sell off their rights to DirecTV at a huge loss because DTV's customer base is being eroded into by the various streaming network offerings & devices like a Blockbuster video store back in the day once Redboxes and Netflix entered the market.

Could a more universally accepted Netflix, Amazon Prime video, Peacock, Hulu, Roku etc. type of streaming offering possibly be contemplating competing with the much more niche NBCsportsgold deal for the broadcast rights if not purchasing one or both series outright?

Nbc is making their play for streaming with peacock and motorcycle racing with mx,SX,aft,MotoGP. If anything I could see nbcsn absorbed into peacock and a motorcycle package offered for $150 a year.

Maybe SX and MX are swapping schedules?

Highly unlikely stadiums will be allowed full capacity by January. But outdoors already has less restrictions, so maybe they do MX series first (would have to adjust the dates to have the warm weather tracks (CA/FL) race the first half series and then the colder weather tracks in spring? Obviously would probably mean some new tracks (or old tracks?) to have enough warm climate races to get past the snow season.

Then SX is now summer scheduling, again with the cooler climates first and then as it gets hotter it would be domed stadiums with A/C? Again it would probably mean some new venues (or double headers) to make the schedule work. But at least no NFL conflicts in summer.

And prep/testing would be easier going from 2020 MX to 2021 MX, no SX in between.

Just cannot imagine Feld even attempting SX scheduling for early 2021 until they know they can be held at normal capacity (or at least enough capacity to be profitable).

Dungey is possibly racing SX for Honda 2021. Still early but there is talk.

^that *might* be what he was referring to. Interesting ploy, especially since Honda already has Canard in the organization as a tester. McGrath go around 2.0?

Throw Dungey in the mix for 2021, that 450 class is beyond all time stacked.

The promoters of Mx/sx need to work together. I think with both of them working as a team we can really grow this sport, market it,and bring new fans and possibly some outside sponsors and more national tv exposure. I’ve been riding since I was 5,now I’m 43 and I still remember as a kid my dad turning motorcycle racing on. We need to get these young kids involved in riding and get off the Xbox and cell phones. All it takes is one time and there hooked.
Can opposite politicians work together?
Not for long anyway.

Hypothetically speaking...IF they were to merge SX/MX together (they won't), would that mean the annual video game becomes "Monster SX/MX" with replica outdoor tracks?

One can dream.

I hear they are going to let Teams sell Merch in the pits via NASCAR and split the TV revenue.

Not really, but I missed April Fools day this year.

They’ll only let the teams sell merch if the pits are closed to fans.

To me it sounded more like a certain rider racing
vs a title sponsor change.

Didn't he say its a bigger change than any one rider?
I'm asking because I read it on here. I haven't listened to the podcast.
My first thought while looking through the first page of this thread was that someone is buying the series from Feld. My hope would be MXsports and for people saying yeah but the they don't have that kind of Money.
Maybe true but they wouldn't have to have it all in cash.
As long as they could make it profitable.
If they had a monthly payment of 1 million dollars a month, if they could bring in More than that when averaged out over the course of a year than hypothetically it would pay for itself and then some. So it would make sense and especially if they could make improvements that would get it to thrive better than ever.
BTW I want a job DC!

Can’t believe there is only 1 person in this thread that’s in the right track 🤷🏻‍♂️

It’s big, great for the sport! Most will be totally shocked! Sorry boys I’m sure I’ll get plenty of “thumbs down” for this 🤣

I swear.....some companies just refuse to conform to changes and new competition within their industry. It's amazing DirecTV is just now reacting to the writing that's been on the wall for them and every other cable company t&&nghat's been ramping their customers for decades ....splitting channels into differentnpackages specifically to force people to pay the max price and all the other shady shit DirecTV has done over their reign of power and I love the streaming market as it pays karma in dividends to the old guard but the worst part is that in a lot of cases, getting the amount of channels streaming and all the subscriptions from these asshole exclusive only setups like apple, Disney plus. and even netflix whom magically doesnt have a single good movie to watch anymore lol. For me, Kodi is still king in streaming ....now if I could just get live tv through kodi I'd be set.....are there any new repos better than exodus?

I heard they’re going to have Varner tear down and check all the podium guys’ bikes at each round. Then only he is allowed to put them back together. 🤔
