I’d say the yosh would be your best bet. I have a pc pipe and it gave it more grunt and more midrange pull. I rode a buddy’s bike with the Yosh system was smooth and pulled a little longer. But did not give you the hit the pc system did. Can’t speak for the fmf. But I did have pc remap my Ecu and it made the power off the bottom smoother, pulled longer in 2nd and made 3 out of corners easier. and I ride at 6000 feet. Hope that helps.

I do! Love in the springs tho.
I just moved here from nyc (Denver area). Have the yosh full system and have ridden thunder valley 3 times. The first time my 450 has felt under powered! Had my ECU remapped by twisted development (I’m guessing all the locals here have their secrets for getting that extra horse power). Looking forward to trying it out to see how it has improved. The yosh on the KX 450 is very smooth for the other guy asking.

Send me a message. We should link up and ride.

I actually have had PC,yoshi and FMF now and the fmf makes the most power. And feels the best in my opinion. Here is my lorettas bike from this year .

The only downfall to the FMF is they haven’t figured out you need to rubber mount the muffler mount.. There bracket simply doesn’t work. It does hold the muffler from getting destroyed and hitting the rear tire but the subframe mount still breaks.

This was the main reason I ruled out the fmf. I wanted a rubber mount. I had a previous FMF muffler snap off on my 2016 bike. The subframe didn’t break, the actual muffler broke and fell off while riding lol. I heard the pitch of my bike suddenly change and was like what the hell???

I too went with the PC for that reason. Can't give any feedback as it's on backorder and the date keeps pushing back from Rocky Mountain.

Can anyone help me out with a starter question on the 2019 kx 450 ? Is there supposed to be 2 wires that run off the starter on these bikes ? One looks like ground wire that runs to the battery somehow.

Only one wire. That's the power wire, should go to the starter solenoid. The starter grounds directly to the engine case.

Any clue where this wire runs too ? Thought it was ground wire from the starter to the battery.

It runs up near the battery and connects to the starter relay. The only thing that should be on the negative terminal of the battery is the short cable to the subframe. Images from service manual, can't get pics of the bike right now.

How would the starter wire connect to the starter relay ? I don't have a manual for it and can't find the starter wire pictured above anywhere on the online parts list. Im assuming the picture of the wire above runs off the starter and towards the battery but can't see how it would connect to the relay. Looks like it's a ground wire to me.

The relay has a plug on top for the wire harness, and two posts. One post is power in, the other is power out when the relay is energized.

I just hit 80 hours on my bike. Aside from the start up issues (sub-frame, chain guide, rear brake)....i haven't had a single issue with the bike. It eats rear stock brake pads. I switched to EBC but it squeeks like a motherf--ker. Great bike.

Yep just hit 90. I do keep having problems bending the chain guide I’m on my second one. Another strange thing... I ripped the acerbis skid plate off my bike. Been a great bike. Just about to get my second set of forks and shocks set up with some gold valves for the woods and I got a rekluse radius cx that should be here next week.

Has anyone on here beside the person making them actually tried the Luxon mounts? This past weekend was the second weekend in a row I tucked the front wheel in a corner and had to go back to the pit and loosen the bar mounts up to get them straight again.

I installed ZETA aluminum bushings (~$20). Twisting bar syndrome fixed. Vibration isn't an issue.

I bought the Ride Engineering solid top handlebar clamp and it solved my problem very cost effectively.

I use them. They are great. Super strong and very light.

Yes, I have them and they are great clamps. No more twisted bars.

I like the bike but the noise makes me want to sell it & move on!
I’ve owned everything but a Honda in my many years
Maybe time to ride red

I can't recall reading in the 147 pages what engine oil most people are using? I saw in the manual they were recommending a specific Castrol oil.

Anyone using rotella?

Don’t use Rotella. I never would recommend it in the first place, but they’ve apparently changed the oil. Friction modifiers or something. I like Maxima Premium 4 personally.

I use ProPlus! This was recommended by Maxima for the KX450. No issues with my bike in regards to the engine

Bel-Ray Thumper Racing Works for me... I run a 8-10 hour drain interval and it's been fantastic.
