One week I was on a streak. Like every single day
She finally had enough, and after 2-3 that class period, she sent me to detention for the rest of the day.
I remember putting on the detention slip (Reason: Farting in class (natural gas))
Then there was the time in 1986 when I won both the 250 AND the open pro class’s at DeAnza race park. It was a Yamaha contingent race and that same day Ryan Huges won the 125 novice class, Mike Young won the 125 intermediate class, Kenny Zahrt won the vet class and ”The King” Jeremy McGrath got 3rd in 80 novice! About 25 years later I saw Jeremy and Ryan at Mammoth and showed them the results....I jokingly asked Jeremy if I was his hero that day. He said he didn’t remember me but that he rarely missed pro races and that he was sure he was watching trackside...and I probably was his hero...that day.
Oh yeah...and Todd Campbell...he was the shit back then! (I was lucky he had issues that day)...whatever happened to that kid?

Couldn't figure it out over the phone over weeks of testing. I figured it out after about 10 minutes into the meeting. It turned out to be a pretty simple problem, which is why I never even considered it as a possibility when talking on the phone. Either way, the problem ceased to exist after that.
The possibly cooler part was they happened to be throwing a party for the Dakar team that day for Marc Coma's final Dakar title in 2015. I happened to run into him, and I think Jordi Viladoms, in the lobby as I was leaving.
Overall, awesome trip. I got a full tour of the factory/facility and it was incredibly cool.
Pit Row
I went to get the drinks when we arrived and my wife went to the beer garden. I returned with the beers and she’s sat at a bench talking to him. I sit down and pick up the conversation and we end up talking moto for a bit (Jason Bonham used to race with me in the schoolboys).
He then leaves and Mrs A says “How do you know that man then?”
I say, “Do you not know who he is?”
“No”, she replies. “I was talking to him about his dog.”
“Er, that’s Robert Plant”, I say.
Should’ve offered to buy him a pint I suppose. But then he didn’t offer to buy us one.
True story Bros.
(He lives not too far away and has been to our pub before, although I’ve never met him previously. Seemed a nice guy)
2. Once stopped a 240 pound running back for a loss weighing only 130 pounds. He didn't run my way the rest of the game which is a good thing because I had a terrible headache.
3. All around shooting champ at the local gun range.
Edit
Full disclosure: twice on the first lap.
