The Monster edition is the most ridiculous release I’ve seen in a long time. Even RC’s Suzuki’s in like what (06-07?) had more bling than these did. This was before factory editions were even discussed.

I didn't stay tuned into the Facebook live stream for very long...it was fairly tedious.
Quite enjoyed looking at the fancy gytr garage mats though..nice!
I did read on mxa site that the 450 does get some changes...airbox , high comp piston, altered cam profiles..

Hmmmm. The Yamaha literature has the airbox piston, cam as the changes for the 250F, not the 450

MXA is historically bad with copy/paste.

The YZ450F’s engines gets combustion chamber geometry with steeper valve angles, more aggressive cam profiles, and  ahigh compression piston with low friction rings, longer connecting rod, larger exhaust head pipe connector, a high flow air filter, better breather system and more—all while fitting under a smaller and lighter magnesium valve cover. The revised launch control system optimizes engine output for quicker, smoother race starts every time by boosting controllability out of the gate.

That's what is on the mxa page

This is from the Yamaha website. Its creatively worded. When they say updated they are referring to what was updated on the 2020 model. First featured is the give away here......

The 2021 YZ450F returns with all of the class-leading features first introduced on the 2020 YZ450F, including an updated engine, cylinder head, frame and technology features for a lighter, more powerful and better handling motocross experience. Racers can achieve quicker, smoother race starts through Yamaha’s Launch Control System, adjust their on-track performance using the onboard wireless connectivity through the free of charge Yamaha Power Tuner App right from their phone, and choose between two user-defined ECU maps on the fly through the handlebar-mounted dual-mode engine map switch.

Really? I think it looks ten times better than the monster edition KXF’s from 2009.

Im only one but I think monster edition is cool.
Kawasaki and Yamaha getting more power.. will they match KTM/Husky on stock trim as KTM stays same this year?
Honda and Suzuki will be left behind.

Interesting seeing how much the stance has changed on the 21' 250F compared to the 20'

Not really an accurate way to tell. I've done something similar with the 2strokes (which were unchanged) and they also appeared different. Whether it was sag, picture angle or whatever, they looked different but it was the same bike.

Is it just me or does the front disk look smaller on the 2021?

Pull up to the track with that Monster Energy Edition YZ450F, with an ice cold OG Monster in my hand, driving my lifted pickup with a big Monster Claw on the back, and putting on my Monster Claw Bell helmet Silly Silly

That's all it is! No upgrades.

That’s because it’s not a factory edition, it’s a monster edition, just like Kawasaki did in 2009. Just another color option.

Yea I still think it's a little odd considering that I have overlapped bikes many years in a row different models and never seen a differential like that.

Angle wouldn't change it that much without altering the actual image of the bike. Maybe just a one-off thing but unusual because over the years none have mismatched this much.

Agree, would be nice to get something a little more substantial than just plastics with the Kyle edition.

When are the ‘21’s supposed to hit dealers?

In AUS, The 450s will be in dealers in the next week or two, 250 not until October.

Ya, I mean Im not saying your wrong. But I just wouldnt take that as the defining factor. I saved dealer pics of YZ125s last year and when I stacked the 17 or 18 with the 19, the 19 looked like the rear end was lower. But the bike has no major changes. But who knows, maybe the frame changes do radically change how the 21 250f sits.

Regardless, I dig the 21 250F. And I dont know why I like the race team version because I hate black plastic lol.

The Kawi thread is not a bitch session. That thread is filled with good info.
