May be a bit early for silly season talk but it’s interesting to think about. How do you think the teams will shape up in 2021 in the 450 class with some 250 riders having to move up? Obviously just a guess but IMO it goes:
Kawi:
Tomac
AC
Honda:
Roczen
Sexton
KTM:
Musquin
Webb
Husky:
Anderson
Osborne
Wilson
Yamaha:
Ferrandis
Plessinger
KTM 2:
Baggett
Barcia
McElrath
JGR:
Savatgy
A Mart?
(Whoever is left!)

Is factory Suzuki run by HEP? Will they have the budget to go after a potential top 5 guy?
HEP is doing outdoors this year and have Antsie but with a Suzuki’s recent involvement I can’t see them signing a big name guy for next year unfortunately...

Will Barcia stay at Yamaha?
Does Davalos stay at Tedder or end up at Hep or MCR? He’s proven to deserve some sort of factory supported ride.
I think Husky would be foolish to not re-sign Wilson if I’m he is still willing to race. His presence on the team is at least worth the weight of his advertising.
Barcia at Yamaha is eerie. The whole “must finish in top 3 for an automatic resign” and recently “must win the championship for an automatic resign” narrative leaves me to think if he doesn’t fulfill those needs Yamaha will quickly look at the up and coming riders moving up, even if Barcia has been their best guy lately. From what I understand, AP is stilled signed through 21 and Barcia has that stipulation. This second half of SX has not looked good for Barcia at all. Which leads me to think maybe they sink the high dollar contract in someone else (Dylan). I know Kawasaki has a history of letting big name go but I really can’t see them letting AC slip through the cracks to another team.
And with the rumors of new management of the Yamaha 450 program next year, and seeing as how Dylan has ripped a YZ450 in the past, the puzzle pieces kinda fall into place. AP already being signed plays a big part in Barcias future at Yamaha IMO.
But then I think Yamaha desperately wants to keep Ferrandis and Monster will no doubt want to keep him too.
Can't be a bad time being his agent at the moment.
Not really, there is a lot of work to do in a very tricky context (around his "growth" especially), with a lot of things at stake, while many unknown, unforeseen.
I really hope that if Ferrandis get into 450 with Yamaha, it will be only within StarRacing. Otherwise it would be an error to him... Among others, Ferrandis isn't a young rider anymore, he has no time to lose in a way.
Kawa and Honda looks perfectly full for 2021, and even if there was some talk for a third bike before the "covid shutdown".
In the KTM group, I only see place at Rocky-Mountain KTM (maybe will switch to Gas-Gas next year), which would be a great union IMO. Also there was some talk before "covid shutdown", for a third bike, but it's even more unlikely than then.
In a unofficial team ? Maybe Honda-SmarTop ? Along Malcom (and instead of Hill and Friese), with nice help from Honda (materially and for the pay) ?
Suz... Seriuosly?... It's a way more well-balanced bike than the Yam. And for few good reasons nowadays "official-team" doesn't mean that much anymore. But now there is none serious team to ride a RMZ for 2021, thus it's impossible (unfortunately IMO).
To keep in mind, Ferrandis and his coach, appreciate to test and settle what they want on their bike...
