He was on point with a lot of good insight. I think when he slows down his delivery he's good, kind of like he was with Leigh Diffey. He just needs to retire the term "hitting his marks".

I have a feeling everything was paired down, including the guys talking in his ear.

I thought it was really cool how he explained how unprecedented this wacky season/year is. Dude is the best ever and he's giving the current racers respect and admitting "I can't speak to this personally but...".

I thought that was rad rather than being a tough guy/ex champion and just saying they should put their big boy pants on and race.

I had no issues with the broadcast since I couldn't do a better job. Happy racing was back.

I agree....RC was on point. He's a really good speaker! So cool that he found a way to stay with the sport after a break!

People complain about Ralph because of his simple and obvious statements and questions. People don’t understand that he is tasked with making the race enjoyable for the non fans. Ricky will continue to get better with time.

When RC said someone was "riding well" I genuinely sat up and thought the man's upping his game.

Much respect to RC. I've liked him in the announcers booth from the get-go. That doesn't mean I don't miss Fro.

The thing I loved, was the couple of times on the broadcast when RC cut Ralph off, to talk about something going on in the race. Instead of hearing one of Ralph's woodpeckers like stories, we heard actual race commentary.
Sidenote for those who love Ralph, I'm not trying to slam him. I just believe RC is doing what he needs to do in those type of racing situations. If something important is happening, & Ralph keeps telling his story, Ricky should cut him off and refocus the commentating. Maybe we'll get lucky & RC's turn around will inspire Ralph to put some more work in to up his commentating.

Ralph is a great guy, and I really think he is trying, but I don't want to hear about badminton, tans, woodpeckers, or moles DURING the race. That's what the downtime is supposed to be for. You could tell RC was getting a bit chuffed at some of it. Not to mention trying to call out the gate drop as if the viewers are blind and still messing it up.

Please try and do better Bondo and the production team. Or give us Gold Pass users the option of turning off the commentary so I can just listen to the bikes. I legit got angry a couple times yesterday.

You think there are a bunch of non moto people watching? And of course we understand what the lead announcer is supposed to do but Ralph's shtick is tired and worn out.

Anyone who gambles against RCs ability to identify his weaknesses and put 100% effort into overcoming them, will lose.

Good job RC !

For the first (OK maybe 2nd or 3rd) time ever yesterday I vocally yelled "Ralph, STFU".

RC is doing really well, which in turn is making Ralph look worse. Someone above mentioned RC cutting Ralph off at one point, which I believe is a sign of the times where Ricky is improving and taking the lead over a little from Ralph to get the broadcast back on track. Was good stuff.

Thought it was a cool moment when RC cut Ralph off and actually took the lead of the commentary. In my opinion RC has the lead and Ralph fills the gaps and understands that his “story” can be interrupted and picked back up when it’s slow moving. It seems Ralph is speaking as if there is a new viewer tuning in every three minutes and he has to catch them up to the current place in the race. I believe his main focus should be stimulating the new viewers to entice them to tune in to the entire show the following week and not try to make them a expert in SX in one show or a portion of.

Flame away!

And NO I couldn’t do better. Why, because it’s not my job.

RC is so much better this year. All we need is Leigh Diffey back (or Weege) to replace Ralph and the commentary team would be set!

RC did great yesterday. Ralph would go off on some random piece of trivia totally unrelated to racing and RC would bring the talk back to the actual racing taking place.

I was surprised that RC said that whoever won this championship would have won the toughest one ever. That says a lot, coming from a guy that has won as many titles as RC has. He's not known for his modesty.

I really really like Ricky Carmichael. He has become just like McGrath, truly a respectful and respected statesman for the sport. I love having him announce

Dude is definitely on point and professional. He’s really sounding like a pro.

I told myself I wasn’t going to comment on anymore Ralph or Ricky threads but I can get behind this one.
