Overdue for RETIRING the #4 jersey. Sorry Blake , but the jersey should have been retired. Out of respect , riders should refuse the number. No one will ever be able to represent it correctly.

Bobby, dude.....pass the reefer. You are a badass I know, but to compare Herlings to RC and his records, and his speed in both MX and SX, and the Nations? He beat Everts like a rented mule when they were both in their prime. Herlings is not in RC's snack bracket, period. Neither is Tomac, as fast as he can be at times but his entire body of work pales in comparison. And Tomac is a beast, as is Herlings. RC will go as fast as he needs to go to beat anyone, and he proved that time and time again.

SMDH! Math is hard, huh? Don't worry, thanks to COVID-19 and literally having nothing else to do I figured the math out for you bud.

Case study: Tomac could pass RC

Ricky Carmichael

260 - total professional races
162 - total professional wins
62.3% - professional win percentage
216 - total professional podiums
83% - total professional podiums percentage

21 - total professional championship series competed
16- total professional championships
76.1% - professional championship win percentage

Eli Tomac

232 - total professional races
73 - total professional wins
31.4% - professional win percentage
144 - total professional podiums
62% - total professional podiums percentage

19- total professional championship series competed
5 - total professional championships
26.3% - professional championship win percentage

Conclusion: No. Tomac could not pass RC in literally anything relating to SX/MX.

Well done.. such impressive numbers. I would love to see Ricky battle RV and Herlings. If RV went into warp mode, I bet RC finds a way to go warp 1.2.

Eli is so awesome but RC is just.... RC.. and he is becoming funny AND enjoyable now like RV. I would love to drink beer with RV

Isn’t Dungey still ahead of Tomac statistically? I understand that Tomac is a once in a few year phenomenon as far as raw speed, but there are a few dudes in the last 20 years with better stats...

I believe in SX All time wins he’s 7th
And in MX 3rd or 4th.

Chad beat RV and RD straight up outdoors when he was almost 30 years old, he never beat RC. Something to think about...

Titles and records aside, I don't think anyone can ride a dirt bike faster then Stewart and Carmichael did during the 2006 MX season.

Here’s a fact I just pulled from the Vault on RC:
Jan 18th, 2003 to feb 18th, 2006.
71 straight podiums in professional competition.
Every SX main and Outdoor national he was on podium for in this time.
Dungey had a streak as well I’ll have to check.
Also interesting Davi Milsaps never won an outdoor race. (Bored in Iso checking random rider results lol)
Not sure what the OP was on about either. I think Tomac will be doing well if he can get to 50 SX wins and 50 Outdoor wins. Probably realistic over the next 2-3 seasons and then I think he retires

Well, they race for wins, titles, isnt that the point of racing? If not why keep stats, ama record books. Speed means nothing if ya cant finish.

After what I saw in Daytona, yea, Eli could pass RC. Pretty easily at that, RC looked rough in those woops.

You know Carmichael finished and won in 2006, right? And even though Stewart crashed out, he came back and was the only person to challenge RC, winning the overall in Washougal. My comment was just to add praise to Carmichael. Not only did he win more championships than anyone else, but at his peak he was riding faster than anyone ever has, including Tomac when he's going "beast mode."

Millsaps might have never won an overall but he did win the 1st moto at Thunder Valley in 2007. Maybe more but I know I saw that the other day when I was looking at results.

Also, we will see how long Eli races but I dont believe he will get tp 50 in sx or mx. Maybe 40, but I highly doubt 50. Remember he has a little girl coming in like a month, that will change things.

Maybe he will pull a Reed and keep racing, but I doubt it. I think we may see one, possibly 2 more seasons out of Eli, although thats a complete guess on my part.

Lets see how being a dad affects him and how his results are finishing out this year.

Less races this year & Harder next year with AC ,DF, CS in the mix with the usual suspects of KR & expecting CW to get back to his SX form.

Tomac already passed RD in SX wins without a championship. Much like MC and his 7 SX championships with 72 SX wins Tomac’s record will probably never be broken.

Not exactly a record anyone aspires to have.

And for those who might have not had the privilege of watching him race, there’s a 99.99% chance he was in cruise mode for the final 20 minutes. That gap could have been much larger.

22 for 24. Once, he fell and handed a sure win to Chad Reed. The other time was the infamous Stewart jumping on his back at Unadilla, after which he angrily jumped up and finished second.

Here's some stats for you:

In the 450 MX class, RC's win percentage is 86.51% of overalls.

450 MX moto wins is 79.87%

To put this all in perspective, RC's win percentage in the 2001 SX season was 87.5%. (Won 14 out of 16 races).

-----------------------

MX Win percentage against Stewart

RC & Stewart raced each other 23-times
Carmichael won 20 out of 23
Carmichael's win percentage over Bubba = 86.9%
