Here's my oldest riding pics, me on my 1976 Honda XR-75 out at a riding area we called Legend City in Phx Az.
PS. Ha Ha I hand colored these first two pics with some colored sharpies back in the day. Tongue




This is me either mad as Hell or trying to look like a serious Bad A$$, Laughing sitting on my XR in the back of my Dad's truck in front of were he worked, which was SRP in Phx.

It was a great bike...until my buddy Matt got an ‘82 YZ80. Even though the RM was probably a better bike, I was so jealous because Matt’s bike was water cooled.

I rode street bikes until my brother got me into dirt bikes when I was in my mid 30's in the late 90's so my pics aren't quite the same as some folks. You'll note the stylish Red Wing work boots, work gloves, jeans, street helmet and even a sweat rag hanging out of my back pocket. Riding a clapped out '91 RM125 my brother picked up somewhere. I felt like a spode but looking at these now, my form wasn't super-bad, just not all that good! Laughing

Anyways I figure I might as well post one of me. I would guess the year was 2006, I was riding a hand me down XR70, Hand me down gear, and was sporting my dads race car number at the time. When he stopped racing bikes and started to have a family he needed to do something wh a little less risk and couldn't give up the thrill of racing so he got into stock car racing. The red fox gear Im wearing my dad took me to cycle gear to buy me new everything, I still remember the smell of the brand new gear and goggles on my way home. Everytime I use a new pair of goggles it still takes me back to those days. The XR70 later resulted in a snapped swingarm from my brothers packing me too big of a lip on one of the singles at home. Dad was not happy.

Did you know an AMA race was held in the Olivenhain area in, I think, the late 60's? Let me see if I can dig up the clip..


Yes in Rancho Santa fe but we lived on the east side of town so I mostly rode around Black Mountain. I don't remember the AMA race but my cousin raced there around 71. Did you know there was a MX track right where they built Torrey Pines High school?

1978 RM 100. I wanna say this was Pepperell, MA racetrack. Boots were too small, pants were too big, couldn't afford a jersey or numbers, but loved every minute of racing.

1976-- First year racing 125 . Western PA at a track called Hotshoe Park. I believe these were taken at the last round that year where I had wrapped up the "season championship" lol. Real Hallman leathers were definitely hot
