Think how Eli will feel if he gets crowned now

It's a shame you can't enjoy great racing between two of the best racer's in this Country without insulting people. You strike as the type that would love to see Barcia take out Eli so Roczen could win the title.
Who said I did not enjoy the racing....it had been an awesome season until this mess.

Furthermore....you don't see me getting personal too often like most people here. I tend to avoid the keyboard warriors. For crying out loud though ...there are a number of "rabid" Tomac fans who would probably propose marriage to him if they got the chance. Sure, I've posted some jokes...it's funny to watch these guys spool up.

Those rabid fans are all "pissy" because in their hearts they know the title (should it be HANDED to Tomac) is empty and will forever be a black cloud. Their Eli god will not be denied!

Look....I keep saying it... I like all the riders, Tomac is an amazing talent, he is a head case (not just my opinion)...there is a reason he's never been an SX champ. You know in his mind he'll be disapointed to be HANDED this one if it plays out that way.

Most importantly, I love the racing. Sucks no matter who was in the points lead.

Carry on....

At this rate Tomac won’t feel anything about being crowned..

I’m a Roczen fan. He did drop a huge lead and made some mistakes which allowed Tomac to pass. Tomac was the better rider that night. Quit swinging from the anti Tomac fan club tree. Racing is racing.
Ummmmm.... I'm not anti-Tomac.... (though he is not my favorite rider). I'm anti rabid fan....

Otherwise known as a curmudgeon.

There's a reason Roczen has never won a 450SX title too

I really feel bad for both Tomac and Roczen if this is it.

Tomac finally gets the title that he has worked so much for but in this manner? By winning a mid season race that he almost by default always wins. Tomac would be robbed from the proper celebrations and emotions that is the major part of finally winning it.

Then we have Roczen that has been "conservative" for a while now after the injuries. If someone tells him before Daytona that this is it, if you win this race you'll be the 2020 SX champ he would obviously have gone 110% from the start. I know there are people in the thread that thinks Roczen and Tomac didn't have anything left when they raced in Daytona but i strongly disagree with that. If you don't think both of them could take it to a level where they are out of their comfort zone in a season finale where they're tied compared to a mid season race where they're tied i don't know what to say to you.

Anyways, i really hope we get a few races more for everyones sake. But it doesn't look good.
Tomac doesn't have the points lead simply by winning one race...…….

Correct, he only won half of the rounds. Not too bad.

Roczens main reasons have been physical (injuries)....Tomacs reasons have been mental, which is widely agreed upon in the industry.

I never completely understood this opinion. Most people on Vital say that the real racing is outdoors. The outdoors are Knarly and incredibly difficult to win. The REAL racing. Some consider Supercross a sideshow until the outdoors start, (I don't agree, I believe it is the premier off road motorcycle series in the world). The guy has dominated the outdoors the last 3 seasons, he didn't seem to be a mental case then. 3 outdoor championships, I don't need any more proof than that to see that he is mentally tough.

Not really. If Kenny would have known that was the last round Eli would have never caught him.

While I think Kenny May have put up more of a fight, Eli was on a freaking mission.. look at the lap times, he was over 2 seconds a lap faster.

Definitely impressive, but Kenny wouldn't have needed to match that, only improve his time enough to win at the end. Webb was good also.

Im tired of the bs of he didnt race harder. Kenny needs to beat Eli every chance he gets, if he cant do it with a 8 second lead in 10 minutes than he wasnt fast enough.

I understand what you guys are saying about Kenny taking it safer than if its the very last round, yada yada yada. L

However, lets think for a minute here. If Kenny can win at Daytona, a track he has never won on a 450 and beat Eli, who is now a 4 time Daytona winner he has sole posession of the red plate, they are now tied at 4 wins each, he proved to himself he could beat Eli on a tougher track which usually suits Eli more. The momentum would be huge with not just a win but an 11 pt swing in 2 rounds.

Laslty, the last issue I have with that thought process of not giving it 100% is no one knew it might be the very last round. I said it before and will say it again, these guys should put everything on the line each week. They are both towards the end of their career and this is the best chance they have had at the SX title.

True! There is zero doubt Kenny tried every bit as hard as he could to win Daytona. To think otherwise is just dumb.

I disagree, and not only that, but I think Webb had more in the tank.

ET3 is the champ of the 2020 SX season. Regardless of the shortened season. I sure he's going to net a good bit less money then if it was a full season. I sure he would have won a few More races. He probably gets quite a bit for each SX win. I bet he still comes out with a couple of million dollars. Even if there is no outdoors he still does OK for the year. The less abuse to his body could extend his career a little bit as well.

I don’t get the black mark kinda vibe on an asterisk.
It notes the season was different, altered or whatever.
It just tells what happened.
All were dealt the same hand. Nobody had any inside info, or premonitions.
It, if over, was a level playing field.
If 2020 ends at Daytona, Tomac won it.
Fair and square.

Exactly. It doesn’t take away that Eli is a bad dude and clearly the winner. Just some extra info to let you know of extenuating circumstances.

I was mostly joking about the asterisk and where to put it. I am definitely a fan or Eli, dont think ive crossed the fanboy line yet.

I try to be reasonableabout my opinions, but yes Eli is my favorite rider.
