What's Tomac's WORST finish the rest of the way?

If ET splits wins (if) the rest of the way, his worst finish might determine who gets the #1 plate. He has shown over the last 3 years he will have one or two meltdown races. I could easily see him start 12th, get up to 6th, crash then fade to 10th. So, what's his worst finish down the stretch?

OP, not going to lie it is so hard to say, while Eli has been more consistent this year, when you least expect it you probably should expect a blunder. I will guess 8th, assuming no mechanical or injury.

Didn’t he miss 2 races with a shoulder in 18? Opening rounds?

Well he was pretty far back of points from Webb before those 4 races. Eli has shown he can come from behind in SX (2017 and 2019 to some lesser extent). He's going to need to show he can hold the red plate and manage it over the last races if he wants this title. He's done that outdoors. But SX is a differernt animal.

EDIT: FWIW his 7th at A1 will be his worst.

I could see him having one of his "off nights", starting mid-pack and just staying there. So I see an 8th-10th place finish somewhere along the line.

Last year he only had one race worse than 6th (12th in Dallas). I think he already had his one race worse than 6th this year (7th at A1). So I think everything else this year is 6th or better.

I would have to call bullshit on that statement because probably every comment I've made about Tomac has been negative, he's a guy who should have been a multiple time SX champion. I have said multiple times he's not my favorite rider but I don't believe I have ever used the word hate about any rider. I'm basing that on last year when Webb owned Tomac. I think the days of Tomac winning half the races have passed. Webb may not look like he was dominant but he won what 7 or 8 last year, most of Tomacs wins were when Webb was managing the title. You put Roczen in the mix and there's no room for the kind of weekends Tomac has had his entire 450 career. Had Webb not started out the season sick I think that would be more obvious.

Tomac is slowing down? He's one point off the lead and is tied for the lead in wins this year.

In 2017, when he won 9 times, he had 2 wins through the first 6 rounds (same as this year).
