Wow, this looks like a bike to be excited about. Haven't bought a Honda in years but this bike looks to be worth considering.

The only nit pick I have from an aesthetic point of view is the header pipe could be more rounded instead of square, but that's no big deal. The bike looks amazing and it looks like it shed many pounds. Glad to see a single fart can too.

Is it the new Honda or a 2010 KTM in drag ? The 2020 is a much nicer looking bike in my opinion

The KTM and Honda definitely had sex....and this their offspring. It proves how well KTM has been doing considering Honda copied them.

I though the 2020 Honda bike looked amazing but it already looks chunky to me now after one look next to the '21

Lower part of the frame is milled from a solid piece of aluminium!

I would assume cast/forged in production?

Engine seems to have no significant changes. So no hydro clutch.
Engine definitely has some change just looking at the central exhaus port. Bottom might be the same tho

Yes, you are right. Head is new, but rest seems unchanged, hence no hydro clutch.
Personally, I would be happy if it stays at a cable, but thats my preference, I know a few here prefer a hydro Smile

Definitly! Just shows that it‘s a true works bike. Don‘t see that often anymore.

You'd think with all work that goes on with shedding weight, they'd be able to incorporate control buttons onto existing clamps. Cos this looks heavy.

yeah you would think, and more singular wiring looms and plugs.

But i guess from a cost saving point of view their might be a lot more of each individual part made than if they combines them into a CRF450 specific all in part.

Although i wonder if it as cluttered on the production bike?

Is that tube that goes over the bar pad just a breather hose? it seems unnecessarily long

That's the hydro clutch hose right? You can see the breather just below it going to the stem nut.

Grab hole on the radiator shroud, tiny rear plates, and an overbearing rear exhaust?

Hell...maybe I’m nuts, but that’s damn close in my opinion

I've got a gut feeling that Jett Lawrence and HRC will be lethal in 2023.

Check a lot of pictures of many HRC frames - especially MotoGP.

Rarely are they the 'prettiest'.

I suspect they may have some old, half blind, slightly unsteady Master Fabricators there that, like me, don't slavishly rely on Pulse Settings. They might not make a few happy that crave said 'prettiness', but I guarrandamntee that they are sound welds.

It looks like a die casting, perhaps a forging, rather than machined.

It is cluttered and could do with some integration. That switch could easily and cleanly come off the clutch MC mount bolts.

This is pretty obviously a works bike with a lot of pre production parts on it. I think the factory would argue that the major controls location takes priority over the switches

Starter button could be relocated and free up space. It doesn’t have to be on bar IMO

Seems like they are running wider bar setup just to have room for all the controls. Someone make this bike some handguards that come from the triple clamp area, and move the buttons to the clamps for the clutch and brake lever. What a mess lol
