What’s the hurry?

I’m curious which of you fans want to hear from the race winner immediately after the race. The broadcast crew seems they can’t get the mic in front of the winner fast enough. Helmet comes off, Forkner wipes his face and there’s the mic. I’d imagine that wouldn’t be very enjoyable as a professional athlete. I personally wouldn’t mind a commercial break between the end of the race and the interview. Does anybody here have a strong desire to see the interview this quickly?

Maybe if they did wait a few minutes the rider could have time to calm his emotions and prepare a little about what he wanted to say.

I reckon that's why Kenny didn't go straight up to the podium (might not have been on purpose) But I'd rather see a dude celebrate with his team for a minute clean his face and wash his mouth out before listening to his interview..

The reason is they want to get the riders raw emotion right from the track. Right or wrong, like it or not, this is what NBC wants 🤷🏻‍♂️

Maybe have a room like f1 does. I like watching all of them interact and do Their thing for a couple minutes before the mic drops

I dunno... as a fan, i enjoy seeing the raw, genuine emotion these guys feel coming off the track after getting on the podium at a SX Main Event.

It’s totally unprofessional. I agree. I mean come on they just literally got off the track and you stick a mic in there face. Let the adrenaline calm down a bit. Maybe that’s why they do it they want to get them while they are still hyped up.

The summertime is even worse. Dudes are almost barfing in their helmets in 90 degree heat after 30 min and they can give em 30 seconds? I just dont understand it and feel its a bit disrespectful. I just think it is so important that the riders and teams are not going to complain about it.

I agree 100% with this. Love watching them celebrate especially Kenny after such a long battle to get back on the top spot. Another person mentioned it feels disrespectful to put the mic immediately in their face without any time to soak in their win and celebrate with the crew. I guess it is up the rider to avoid the broadcast crew a bit but to me the director should give them a little space. I can’t think of another professional sports broadcast that does this so immediately.

I like it that way. Then you get the emotional racer instead of the sponsored robot.

Getting a mic shoved in your face as you cross the finish line is more legit than getting a Monster can shoved in your face so you can pose with it like a Price is Right model. Can't wait for the first rider with enough fortitude to buck that system.

I kinda felt for the guy.
He looked almost dazed to me.
Could only mention thanking his family and team, nothing about sponsors. And it looked like he tried,
but just finally gave up on it.

Macho Man Randy Savage would a slapped that mic out that girls hand, and told her to get out of his face lol

Absolutely...Get the mic in front of them as quick as you can....as long as there’s no injury involved with the interviewee. Where is Erin Bates when you need her?

I personally would like to see the end of the race before they cut to the podium. I also would like to see racing and not family members/wives in the stands. I would also like to watch racing and not replays of last years finish or roczens crashes. If NBC wants to show that stuff fine. Just do it in between racing not during the race. If they want to show winners podium reaction delay it enough to show the rest of the last lap action. I don't care if it's a battle for last place I want to see it.

You guys remember the Justin Cooper podium interview at jacksonville? That was just unsuitable. 35 min Moto in the hottest weather and they didn't even let him sip water.

I wish they would at least stay through all the qualifying positions. They take the leader board off the screen, and show the winner riding over to the podium. I'd much rather be watching the battle for the final qualifying spot.

Also, why does it take so long for TV to show the leader board on the LCQ's? The heats and main have the leader board up quickly. But LCQ sometimes takes a whole lap.
