Kinda random here, but it’s the off season so I figured I’d share.
Was starting the get the rafters in my garage ready for Christmas decorations to go back up, and ended up finding one of my old boxes that have some of my moto memorabilia. Ive never been much to hold on to old stuff, but from time to time I will toss something into the box that’s worth holding onto.
At the bottom of the box I found this....up until now I completely forgot that I had it:

From what I recall this was supposed to be one of Dungey’s jerseys for Phoenix in 09’, but as well all know Anaheim 1 was his only outing in ONE pant & jersey.
While this jersey never actually saw the lights of a supercross track, I thought it was still cool enough to share with you boys.
And hey, Happy New Years to all you fellow Vital members. Hope 2020 is healthy and prosperous for every one of you!

I really dont have a desire to sell it, but hey, one never does know the day you are gonna be hard up for cash.
Right now just stoked to know I have it.
You've got a small, unique piece of history that doesn't deserve a price tag.
i got mine from ryan when we were doing the factory suzuki team photo shoot in 09' at CR's property. it was the week before they signed j-law. ill try to put a pic up later. its up in my instagram 'mike42mcq' . i just recently logged most of my collection on there...
i never really thought there was another one out there.... he was probably with One less than two weeks.
ill try to get a pic up on here...
I always thought he looked good in answer gear but I'm a bit biased towards their gear.
Sick jersey btw, super rare !

I knew it wasn’t a 1/1, but I didn’t expect within 24 hours of posting it that it would become a 1/2 on vital 😂
ONE already had the deal with monster, which was by far the most profitable and high selling line in their catalog.
If ONE wished to keep said profit juggernaut, they needed to sign Lawerence.
Also, hindsight is always 20/20. While Dungey was a great rider for the brand, at the time he wasn’t the Dungey we know now. No one, sans maybe Roger, Ian, and Ryan himself, foresaw the coming titles and now borderline-legend status.
At the end of the day, at that specific point in time, Monster licensed apparel was ONE’s bread and butter, and upsetting a rider, regardless of their high profile, was a smile price to pay.
And this might be a little to much info here, but once upon a time I saw the total dollar figure of a single order to a single retail store (not a moto shop, an apparel store). The amount of money spent on Monster licensed shirts/hats on that order was more than most moto shops spent in a year across all categories, and by a decent amount to boot. So yea, signing Lawerence at the time most certainly was worth it.
I really do hope one day an in-depth expose happens to ONE, much like Matthes did with NoFear. I feel like most people would benefit to know what the details were that took ONE from an industry leader to having a closed sign hanging on the door.
While there were far deeper issues towards the latter part of the company, innovation was not one of them, at least I don’t think so
Once he sold the business (One Industries) to investors, those guys tanked the business. Most of them knew nothing about moto, and you have to be core to survive in this game. I agree that the designs were cutting-edge and the concepts were good, but the guys at the helm steered the ship wrong.
